Done mine, strip down clean and repack with JCB Lithium grease, lets see how long they last.

if you are doing this make sure you compress the strut before you undo the bottom nut, saves a whole load of grief I used a small ratchet strap, it holds the strut into the location point untill you free the nut.

How long did it take you? Just trying to work out whether it would be worth the time or paying someone the for the time compared to the replacement mentioned by tj1 which seem to be the same ones but new.

Interesting as i though, like Barty77, that Subaru held the licence to distribution and that they couldnt be bought anywhere else. Nice to know they can be had for realistic prices. Didnt want to b forced down the coil over route as mine is a more family oriented R Sport.

If you are want OEM i recommend you go for KYB,few people use them as OEM replacement.
Check Camskill or eBay for KYB coilovers.

As far as I knew up until tonight I thought that Subaru were the only place that sold them for the Hawkeyes. This link http://www.grahamgoode.com/subaru/pa...oup=114&nav=10 "Thats where i got my rears for a 2006 hawkeye." Appears to say differently, so was a bit confused. I know Camskills dont sell them as I have already asked.

The first one took a while because I did'nt compress the strut and the nut was a total **** to get off, the second one, an hour max.

To be honest mine really arent that bad but Im thinking that a bit of lithium grease via aerosol wouldnt go a miss but I dont really know which ones. I have seen this 3 in 1 Lithium grease would this be ok? Im just not sure what the 3 bit is. Is it lithium grease mixed with something or does it mean that it does 3 jobs?
