Think they should be banned. I feel uncomfortable around women wearing them and wish them to be outlawed. Islam does not dictate women should wear them, just like being a Christian you don't have to wear a cross.
The burkha has no place in modern society imo. If they want to make a political statement they should be campaigning for their muslim sisters in the middle east. Where even daring to tell the authorities you have been gang raped, usually ends up with you being buried waist deep and having your head caved in with rocks.
Back in the day of the British empire we used to outlaw these outdated and barbaric traditions on their own soil, these days we don't even have the ***** to do it here.

On the subject of the oriiginal post I think they shuld be banned. Just the other night I was at the cashpoint and I turned around to find a group opf Ninjas about to attack me, turns out they were just Muslim women getting some money... they were lucky I didn't go all kung-fu stylee on the them.
Thing is I don't like not being able to spot a ninja... they could hide amongst groups of burkha clad Muslim women and we'd be none the wiser

I'm surprised a mass murderer hasn't donned it as a disguise an used it to flee the country.

I personally find the full burkha a little odd, doesn't sit well with my own sensibilities. But why do people here get so worked up about it? Describing them as 'ninjas' and 'parasites', people on here seem to get their blood boiling over the issue.
Why is it so important to some people? Personally I'm not sure I give a **** 99% of the time, I'm not going to hate somebody just because they dress differently to me. There are bigger things to worry about.
Start a thread about something like this and some will have sensible reservations and opinions on the matter, but there will always be plenty just spewing hatred and filth.
When GC8 WRX has recovered from his weekend alcohol fueled bender I'm sure he'll have some hatred to share with us all.
ps, I once saw a lady in a Burkha who had beautiful green eyes buying sexy lingerie in Harvey Nicks. For some strange reason it gave me a semi!

I remember discussing the Burkha with a Pakistani friend of mine (down the pub!) and he said that when he goes to Islamabad (note spelling B13 Bat, you ignorant oaf) there are hardly any full Burkhas.
He told me that this 'fashion' of the Burkha is being spread by certain elements from the Middle East, mainly Saudi Arabia. The reason they are allowed to get away with it and fund schools etc here? Our ***** like appetite for oil means we will take it up the gary glitter.

Not sure what you mean. If you mean it says 'you can't tell me what to wear you small minded bigot' then I sort of support them. Even though I don't like the Burkha, I like small minded bigots even less

It's an expression of extreme insularity; the barrier of the fabric symbolising a real social-political barrier that (some) muslims are erecting for no reasonable reason. It's like them saying 'we are too good for you' or 'you are lesser than us'.
sort of like the way people read the newspapers on the tube (like a sort of paper barrier) -- is that what you mean

Really? I don't get that feeling. I just think its very different to me. Perhaps you have an inferiority complex?
Its funny how we find ourselves always talking about the same ethnic group. I'm sure we've all had the odd run with afro-carribean types (although only ever been mugged by a group of asians) but we never seem to complain about the chinese in this country - unless we think they are flogging us sweet and sour cat.
Always the same issues, always the same group.
Always the same issues, always the same group.
I traded a car in at a garage, the garage sold the car to the aforementioned chinese man who then went through numerous speed cameras and parked illegally all over Cambridge. The result was that I was nearly disqualified from driving and had various threats etc from Camb City Council about non-payment of fines and enforcemant procedures. I know that the garage shoulder some of the responsibility but if the chinese man had registered the car to himself then none of it would have happened.

So as to stay in keeping with the thread though, he was probably a muslim who was wearing the veil when he committed all of the offences
