IT mate

If you have a RB5 WRSport i.e with the PPP then you have a modded car.

If your not declaring the PPP with your insurance company then your insurance is effectively void if you have to claim.

I know cos I have an RB5 WRsport and with every single quote I get I have to declare that it has the PPP with spoiler etc.

Be carfull mate

Norwich Union Direct
£801 for Std MY99
6yrs NCD
No accidents in last 5 yrs
33yrs

I can't praise NU enough. I've been with them for last 7 years. 6 yrs ago had a car jacking where I was kicked out of car and the guy drove off. NU were brilliant. Paid up in 2 weeks ! Not only that but there claims inspector called me with a suggested value. I said that in my area the cars were being sold for approx £800 more and he just agreed and paid up.

Its only when you have a claim you realise why your paying a bit over the odds. I've had claims before with Lloyd Syndicates and it takes months to get the money.

Unless the premium goes up a lot i'll be staying put.

STi Import Approx £12K - no mods (mods are accepted though) Me 29 + wife 27, no claims/convictions full NCD licence 5+ years. Cat 1 alarm/immob in garage. £505 with Elephant.co.uk.

2nd car, WRX2002 UK spec.Approx £22K. Same as above but on driveway. Wife driven previously on my insurace they gave her full no claims (but for the first couple years if I have a claim it also affects her NCD) Both of us to drive comes in at around £600

Don't need a tracking device either, though thay MAY give further discount for it, I dunno. £250 compulsory XS, plus £100 voluntary on both cars.

Distinct lack of londoners posting here - we were priced out of the market.

Me 35 wife 40 me 8 years NCD wife no NCD in the UK but no accidents in 20 years of driving in the US/NOrway/Malaysia.

Business use (not salesman just airports runs when flying on business and customer sites)

No points - BUt parked on street in East London. Nobody wanted to touch it despite owning it for the best part of 3 years and still having a clean licence and no mods.

We were paying £1200 a year (way too much given our risk factor as drivers) Sold the car to a guy in Fulham with 3 years NCD who was quoted 300 quid less with no experiance of the wee beastie!

We now have a MINI COOPER and still pay £500 a year - go figure!!

Want to get a scooby back one day - when the insurance is more sensible (when we are both 40 maybe!!!).

Just got my renewal quote from Axa... £710, with the excess reduced from £300 to £125.

Plus I see there is a section that has the heading "mods".

Got a quote from Greenlight over the phone today as well, £717. General rule of thumb for mods is 10% of each of the mod's replacment price gets added to the premium
