All good Fud. Pretty crazy you can have two different year cars both same engine code, both same gearbox code and both the same model number. So Fud, if the STi and the WRX share the same engine codes between the two years.....................do you have an STI engine in a WRX or did the STI have a WRX motor in it? Both cars have the same bhp.

The WRX box is geared longer than the STi, the engine/transmission codes you put up are WRX ones. but hey I am sure it's an STi really

What ever it is the gearbox and engine are the same. I will buy you a beer if its not. You know the link a few posts above, well Fud showed me where his new car was on that list, if you look further down in the next year there is a WRX STI V2 with all the codes the same. Please take a look for me mate cause now i think i am going mad.

Take a look at option code 61C

Aye Catherine and Ken site is flawed mate, they have the wrong codes for GF8 STi's.

The code for GF8 STi's is EJ20G DW5PE / TY752VB4AA sorry dude All of the 555 wagons I have seen have the same STi engine and gearbox as their saloon counter parts.

I am not trying to pi55 on your chips, you're just wrong

If yours was an STi is would have an STi Vin like this...without even mentioning all the other more obvious differences

No mate not pi$$ing on my chips at all. Just glad this is been sorted really. There is no way i was going to know that the mentioned site was flawed.

Like i said, on that website the WRX with ej20gdw4ne engine and ty752vb3fa does also appear as an STi with the same engine and gearbox code. There is also a 555 wagon there with the same gearbox as above. That website might need an update!

Hahahaha, what an eventful evening...my old STI just became an WRX in a few posts. Poor bugger. Kinda like going to sleep as Bo Derrick and waking up as Bo Diddley.
Thanks for that mate.

No STi / 555 wagon I have come across has had anything other than a EJ20G DW5PE / TY752VB4AA.

Interweb is full of misinformation lol

That is not the case. However Im extremely surprised to see a GF8 V2 STI registered on an 'M'... Not to worry though, as the V2 STI was really only a warmed-up STI, using a standard GC8 engine/turbo/ECU (TD05/Z4) producing 260PS over 220PS and retaining a standard WRX 'Wagon applied model number. The V3 STI had a proper STI engine similar to the Saloon model, along with a unique applied model number.

Yes put it at £2500 but then though against it i believe its worth £2500 to the right person brakes and engine cost £2500 alone ..

£1700 is silly money for this car
