I'm shocked, never met the bloke but he was one of the characters which made SN an interesting place to dwell ...... I feel for his family.

The guy seemed so much a part of the fabric of this place, its quite a shock to hear that he's gone just like that. From the quick passing joy he gave to us fellows Snetters, its unimaginable how much he must be missed by his close family. RIP mate

I cant believe i am seeing this, just logged onto SN for a bit of banter & seen this.
Didnt realise he was unwell, i was only talking to him a few weeks ago on his forum via PM, even asked about him quoting on a few jobs on a property i am in the process of building.
Gutted doesnt even come close.
RIP mate. Your one of the good guys.

Last October I went up to Scotland to collect a car I had bought. Told Grant of my imminent arrival in his manor and was promptly invited for a famous Tam fryup and a wee dram on the way back south.
Unfortunately the seller of the car messed me around and it was quite late when I set off. Had to call Grant to postpone the visit to Chez Tam and it was a case then of ' oh no bother , will catch up again sometime soon '
Now I wont get the chance
Yesterday had a crappy day stuck in the car for over 6 hours because of the London tube strike and was ready when I got home for a good old moan. Then heard the news and it kind of put everything into perspective.
LOve the idea that some of his BOTW have been resurrected , it is what he would have liked

Never knew him personally but seemed a nice enough fella. RIP
Our next door neighbour suffered the same fate, all very sudden, and only just turned 40. Left a wife, five kids, and number 6 on the way (Catholics ). Absolutely shocking
I am not quite sure if it is my place to to inform everyone but it seems Grant suffered a brain aneurism and passed away in hospital. It was of course very sudden and this makes his passing even the more tragic as he leaves a loving wife and young family behind.
The news still has not sunk it yet.

OMG, I can hardly believe it. I never met Tam/Grant, but always read his threads. He seemed one of the good guys; a very straight talker.
RIP
and in respect of Tam ................
Hope people don't consider it inappropriate - it was Tam!

I've had the dubious () pleasure of knowing Grant the person for years and I know for a fact that he would be chuffed as chuffed could be that this thread with all your kind words is here for him.
you got what you saw/read with Grant, there were no hidden agendas. when he was happy you knew it, when he was annoyed you knew it. he was a grade 1 pervy bgr but he was also a family man who was both very loving and much loved. he leaves behind his partner of over 20 years, a daughter, two sons (the youngest of whom is still at primary school), parents and brother not to mention many shocked, stunned and heartbroken friends and extended family.
he had known for the last few years that he had a ticking bomb inside his head. Monday (his partner's birthday) was the day it decided to go off. it was very quick which I know, from speaking about it with him over the years, is how he wanted it to be.
finally, Grant would haunt both me and Lee if I left her guestimate uncorrected! he turned 40 earlier this year although he would never admit he was that old lol.
when I'm speaking with his partner I will ensure she knows about this thread and the thoughts and memories expressed here. many thanks to you all.
