Been running that on various PDAs and Windows phones for about the last 6 years
That's my main reluctance with going the Apple or Android route, I have all the OS maps for the Windows version

Since holding it in a certain manner detunes the aerial that will decrease the received signal strength by the device. That wiill decrease the indication of the received signal on the device and if the signal in that particular area is also weak anyway then it may well cause the connection to be lost of course.
I wonder if the trials done by Apple on the aerial reception etc. was done in an area of a very strong signal so that the problem did not show up. Not enough lateral thought by them at the time!

It is laughable that either it was not noticed or was not deemed importent enough to fix before release.
I had a 3G just after they came out and it was a little buggy, but s/w not hardware and the updates fixed it, i'm sure if i still had it i would be happier with it than the 4

Again, whats wrong with the 4, mines fine? Signal issue aside, which my phone does if I deliberately do it but in normal day to day use is no problem and the issue is blown out of all proportion - especially since other phones do it too.
One things for sure, I love my iPhone4 compared to the pos N97 I had before it!
I've heard firsthand of several people with iPhone 3G and 3GS after upgrading to ios4 where the phone simply reboots when on a call for 5-10 mins - my 4 doesn't

Absolutely, you're in a minority with that much use. My usage is sporadic, in the last week I've made 5 calls from the phone, many more on Skype.

But then using your great analagy , if I deliberately touched the brake when accelerating to make the car slow it would be my own fault. If I deliberately touch the 4 to make the signal drop it would be my fault too. As I said, in normal use where I am not deliberately trying to achieve the drop it is absolutely fine.
Gotta love media frenzy and the bitching from people that don't even own one lmfao.

Just because i don't have a IP4 doesn't mean i know FA about them. If i knew FA about the IP4 then perhaps i too would own one
Because you don't have a Scoob should i therefore assume that you know FA about Scoobs!

Signal "issues" no worse than many other smartphones. Completely cured with use of free issue case.
Get over yourself and stop bleating on about something you know **** all about despite your protestations to the contrary

Your posts, however, suggest that you know **** all about iPhone 4.

Blackberry, HTC, SVP Google, Nokia, SE ect, they all suffer signal "issues" just like the IP4 don't they?
It's well documented, isn't it?
They all supply a free Bummer case (which i would want to use through choice, not necessity) to remedy the 'issue' do they not?
Now get back in your bothan and stop telling me what i do and do not know. Good day

I have no doubt that you have owned a Scoob, and can plainly see your join date. I would respect any help/info that you posted re:Scoobs as you clearly have years of experience in that area. I was merly saying that just because you do not own something, it does not necissarily follow that you know nothing about it.
Maybe my experience and interest in repairing and flashing mobile phones and my membership on GSM forums since 2006 gives me a 'slight'insight/edge over the layman. Believe, i too know exactly what i am talking about too.
No need for the btw, without discussion of different views the forum would not exist

Thats the point. It's not well documented because although it exists, strangely it only became an issue with Apple.
So tell me, whats your knowledge of iPhone 4 based on.?
And WTF is a "bothan". ?

Both myself and the Mrs have had a IP4 and both decided that for the little extras they provided (display, cameras and 'n' wifi (oh and facetime) )we found that they did indeed drop out when tested next to the 3gs and made a decision that we where happy enough to stick with the 3GS on iOS4 until the next IP is released possibly next year. I also have friends that have had and some still have the IP4 so i still get access to them when i want/need. Also obviously lots and lots of research from both sides, fan sites to haters!
Had to google this to make sure my memory served me right, i was posted up in Lossiemouth in the mid '80's and they used to be illegal drinking huts/dens, but thats a whole different thread

How can you get in touch with your friends if the signal drops out so badly as people claim.
I have a case for mine and not a single call has dropped.
But then again if I didn't have a case I wouldn't purposely go out to make ir loose signal.

Holding mine naturally in the left hand to browse loses 4 bars on OS 4.01 (which I believe has the updated signal meter). It cuts off all data transfer doing so. I have not experienced this with any other phone. Free case on its way.
