All very strange, 20 days ago he's saying that Liverpool is his English Athletico. He'd never play for another English club, wants Liverpool to invest (£22.8million on Suarez not enough?) and doesn't walk away from contracts.

£50 or £60 million spent wisely will give our team a lift I think. As much as I'd love him to stay he's done **** all for 18 months so if the new money want him let's get it done.

Newcastle want £35m, and LFC will pay it ?? crazy talk and knee jerk in the extreme.

Yeah deffo has potential, but £12-14m would be nearer the mark, that said they offered £12.5m for Suarez before finally agreeing on £23m so who's to say they wont pay big money for Carroll

You can see why SAF is so reticent about spending big these day (other than the fact we're skint

)

Carroll has just handed in a transfer request and is on his way to the NW.
