You can easily make a car look smart on a small budget Ive spent a bit more than i wanted to at the moment, but without the rollcage ive spent about a grand....which isnt too bad i dont think

Righty ho, bit of an update for Japfest yesterday. Lowered the rear quite a lot to get it sitting level and flush with the tyre. Considering how close it is, the 300 mile round trip was a doddle. Only problem was going down the small bumpy country lanes. bumps were okay, but cornering wasnt! My mate was following me and told me about the plumes of smoke coming from the rear arches when cornering lol!

Anyway pics:

New subtle sticker on rear window

Flushness

And a shot of new wheels, almost ready for tyres now

And a sneaky peek from magazine shoot

A tiny amount of camber would sort out the rubbing. Could go down a little more then

Loving the stance The sticker, though, is not my thing but is just the sort of thing I'd expect to see on your car

Whats the width of the new rims and what the offset going be once the adaptors are added into the mix?

Yeah need to invest in some rear camber bolts for when i fit new wheels.

Wheels are 17" x 8J ET22 ........so with 20mm adaptors they will become 8J ET2 Which means that they will stick out another 22mm than current wheel set up.

I love the new sticker, although rear visibility is reduced slightly Have to look through the eyes to see anything out the back!

et2 that'll mean you wont need to get camber bolts, you'll HAVE to!! It should look cool though

I think a little rear lip spoiler would finish your car off IMO.

It dose look the Nuts.

Well no one else is going to say it so I will. What is so cool about lowering your car so much it can no longer corner without the wheels rubbing on the arches? Sorry but it just seems a little bit .... daft.... to me!

Its just what im going for, to be as low and as close to the tyre as possible. Some people aim for as much power as they can achieve, whereas i aim to get it as low and flush as possible....just different tastes.

Chris, i was parked on a funny angle there, the other side was a lot lower due to a small hill i parked on, which made it look higher than it is

Each to their own, I like the look but couldn't live wit the impracticality with my drive. At least with coilovers you could achieve the looks for show and wind it back up for track use

New wheels are BBS RC090's ...finally got some genuine ones

Going all white for now, but i plan on polishing the dishes through the summer, painting them all white is the fastest way of getting them ready as got someone coming to pick these wheels up at the weekend!

Yeah I get that, but surely as close to the tyre as possible is one thing, scraping the arches is something else entirely. Apart from the safety aspect of it what about the damage it does to the tyres and more importantly the arches? Oh well I guess I am just too old to get it.

Ideally you get it as low as possible with the wheels tucked up but with no rubbing - when I dropped both my cavalier and my :ahem: nova the aim was to avoid the rubbing but get it scraping - I even considered bagging the cav

yeah i didnt intend them to rub this much, but not worried about the tyres as they're coming off soon for new wheels. Not going to mess about too much with the stance until i fit the new wheels.

Borrowing an arch roller next week, and with some more camber could get them sitting this low but without touching ....well thats the plan anyway!

Havnt split the wheels down purely because of the timescale. Need them fitted before the weekend, and working all week so dont have much time at the moment. Could split them down, but wont have the time to fix anything if anything goes wrong like a bolt breaking or bolt rounding off, so going to leave it until i have more time...also dont want to pay an extra £90 for a new bolt kit

All in good time

Got my eye on some BBS RF's now

Still no body interested in my current BBS wheels?? Only asking £500 for them now, an absolute bargain!
