Ver6 Type R WRC Ltd- Show Yourselves
Very nice mate, Hurst have had a few up over the last few months, one or two with tastey engine builds too
Anybody know what wheels the WRC edition should have come with as standard? Currently got OZ Ultraleggera's (i think) which are nice but wouldn't mind a change at some point

Thanks. A few other sneaky bits in there too. Of all the (how many doesn't bear thinking about) Scooby's I've owned, this Type R is the most fun.
Half the 'hobby' of Scooby ownership is fettling and this one needs for nothing more, which is always bad because then it crosses your mind to sell... Selling would be a bad day indeed

1 more to add to the gang, my recently aquired WRC number 336. Rescued it from down in London in a bit of a sorry state and after an engine transplant, mot/tax and remap she'll be on the road next week. Been shopping like crazy in the last few weeks so will post up some better pics when she's finished. Already fitted a blitz nur spec r full decat system, new intercooler, hoses, clutch, low mileage engine and started to de-sticker it.
1 thing I want to do is change the wheel colour, i'm not a black wheel fan so they'll be going for a refurb in bright silver or i'll swap for another set if someone is interested. I also plan to change the seats to V7/8 Sti's, fit a 3 piece front splitter and add some other subtle touches.
It has a few nice touches like a Mines front frame, Sti trailing arms, Lamco boost gauge, Alpine 6 speaker system and Godspeed 330mm front brake upgrade.

Thanks mate, its been stood a while so needs a serious detailing all round but that can start next week.
I'd be interested to know what people think I paid for it.
V reg MY00 Type R version 6 WRC #336
No mot or tax
75,000 miles, imported and converted in 2002 @14000 kms
Came with a VF43, 18" Prodrive Alloys/Toyo tyres, Mines front frame, polybushed all round, Sti Pink lateral arms, Godspeed 330mm front brakes, alpine 6 speaker system, clifford concept 500 and RAC Trackstar.
Full box of history since import inc reciepts, service history, all mots etc.
I bought this as the previous owner had done a 4 grand engine rebuild on it in 2009 through his insurance when he hit a rock in the road and smashed the sump (unfortunately now reg'd as a cat d). He had an Sti 9 crank, Manley rods, Mahle pistons and acl bearings fitted by ReWorx in Portsmouth along with an uprated oil pump etc but then never got it mapped. Drove it for 8000 miles on an old map and eventually it went bang, in a big way! He thought the cambelt had snapped but never checked, but basically the engine had melted 2 pistons then **** itself, destroying 4k worth of work
literally nothing could be saved from the bottom end.

Before I committed to buying i'd already sourced a replacement 43,000 mile engine that had safely run decent power for 5000 miles (330bhp) so I knew I had a good replacement on the cards. Picked the car up and dropped it straight off at the garage for the work to be done. After a couple of weeks, new clutch, driveshaft, Millers 10/50, new brake fluid, full cambelt kit etc she fired into life. Mot/tax tomorrow then the fun can start.

Minus an engine and bodywork in average condition id say worth £2-3k. From the above i take it you got a bargain?! Shame the WRC front seats are missing though.
I'm bias but its got to be the best edition classic apart from the 22b. ;-)

As you say, it is strange that the blue wrc seats are missing but it was always my plan to change to newage sti's anyway.
Thanks Steve but i'll let it slip. The car cost me a sniff under £1500. New engine and blitz nur spec will cost me £900, Remap, mot and tax will be £500 and i've bought/sold/upgraded a few bits so i've spent about £200 on bits. Total to get it on the road and running well should be around £3000, which I think is an absolute steal for a rare, stunning Type R WRC.
The only thing that bugs me about the car is the wrc blue plastics. I wish they had blended them better as they just stick out because they dont match the other grey plastics. My plan may be to refresh the plastics in the same colour, add a triple gauge pod in the centre and try and get the blue to flow through a bit more with some touches. I've always fancied carbon on the interior so may take out and store the blue bits then replace with carbon.
Pics/dyno etc will come next week
