Apple owners got a free treat. What is your phone manufacturer doing about the "issue"?

"The BlackBerry Bold 9700... let's see what happens when you hold it in a normal way... 5 bars... and now on holding the left side. The bars go down."

Oh no, is this a HTC, what will they do??

I find it hilarious that so many people got caught up in this hype, these are the same people that scream that people only buy Apple products due to hype! How crazy is that??

Not quite correct, the phone functions better than the 3GS, extensive testing has shown this. There is a spot on the phone where if you hold it reception decreases, all smartphones suffer from this. Apple are doing something about it, other manufacturers will continue to ignore it.

That's awesome, you got a double post about double posting. Just got a double post with someone else's post between over in Computer Related. It's a special day on Scoobynet that's for sure.

So when Audi had handling issues with the TT and Mercedes Benz with the A-Class would customers have been happy if they had been offered a free additional airbag instead of fixing the underlying issue?

Best phone Ive ever had, never had an issue with it and would recommend in a flash.

That's hardly "not doing what it should have done in the first place" if you dig around again you'll find a quote from Steve stating that reception is better with the iPhone 4.

Were any of these phone released this year? Im not sure. They should have compared it with a like for like phone e.g. the Desire. But then I dont suppose they would show a slide of phones that actually worked correctly.

Pretty lame saying, their's is broke so its ok that our is. Two wrongs make a right?

You have to say regardless of all the petty bickering above that it is a bit of a PR disaster for Apple.

And if it really is worse than the 3Gs which as we know wasn't always geat then ... oh dear!

Then I really don't get it.

Peanuts, I'm just a happy customer, it's a shame you find that embarrassing.

Just this week Apple exchanged a nearly 3 year old product of mine for a new unit, can you blame me for liking them.

And anyhow, it's massively amusing reading the negative posts.

They've given away cases, isn't that kind of the same. Haven't you just suggested Apple should do exactly what they did? Perhaps I took your statement the wrong way and you were congratulating Apple.

Audi release a car that works just great - except under certain circumstances - they recognise this and provide a solution. Apple release a product that works just great - except under certain circumstances - they recognise this and provide a solution. The difference being of course that the car could kill you and others, the iPhone might display a few less bars.

You see mate, this is where you look a bit, well, stupid. Mine works perfectly well as a phone.

So your point is what exactly?

Fact is Apple are no longer the small fish in their marketplace. This means they don't get cut the slack they used to as the underdog and innovative company they were.
Any failure or bullying tactics, whether real or perceived is gonna be jumped all over. That's the price of success I guess.

I wouldn't of thought that would be a normal way to hold a phone when making a conversation as it looks really uncomfortable and I bet would put pressure on your thumb?? It a normal way to hold a phone while you are looking at it or playing with it?

You hold a phone similar to that ? I have never really taken any notice of how I hold a phone until recently and I grip a phone near the bottom with my index figure at the back of the phone holding it steady. I hold my iphone in a similar manner to the picture when playing with it and I find it aches my wrist??? Do people actually hold the phone tghat way for a long conversation or is it as I said whilst playing games etc??
