Welcome aboard,

Nice looking car, but I can see areas that we can help you spend you money on!!!!

Price for a normal Alignment is around £80-120 depending on who you use.

Corner weighting can cost about the same again so thats not a bad price. Am I right in asumming that corner weighting is only really worth doing if your running coilovers as the standard setup can't be adjusted.

Can you get a price on alignment only

Ye i can get a price for alignment only i would say of the top of my head itll be at or just below £100

and yes mate you are right in thinking that, the corner weight is only for cars running coilovers

Top of my head I would say:

Bonnet (Later version 5/6)
Grill(Later version 5/6)
Headlights (Crystal off a later version 5/6)
Clear/crystal side repeaters
Clear/Crystal front indicators
Wheels (A nice dark gray/gunmetal 17" would like nice)
Brakes - Newage brembos 326mm or K sport 330mm 8 pots will work well

It proberly could do with uprated suspension bits and bobs: Drop links ARBs, strut braces, Antilift kit.

Thats without looking at the engine: FMIC, bigger turbo, injectors, induction kit replacement ECU. Uprated clutch

I think I've just spent the best part of £4-5K from just looking at your picture. How much do you think the rest of us can spend once you've been to a meet.
You'll be going round saying. "I like that, I'll do that next"

Don't talk to Merv, CAT172 or me, We'll cost you £10,000's

at least let the poor guy get settled in first danny an merv pmsl
but as said if your not carefull going to meets will cost you a small fortune

as said though youve already got the facelifted bonnet so may as well go for the full upgrade, it does freshen the car up but i imho if you got a prefacelift car keep it that way

Im not sure exactly what way i want to go with the body work/ styling tbh , i think i will get some ideas in time and i like to mix things up a bit , normally with nice results.

Things will be tight money wise due to my first little baby due in december

i am looking for the V5/6 grill tho and maybe the lights .

the car so far has turbo timer , a piller mounted boost gaudge and a ninja cat bk system. obv the wheels and spoiler

list of jobs on the cards atm is

coilovers
new wheels
grill
lights
decat pipe ( it has a ninja cat bk system already )
fmic
then engine wrok.

You are on the right track there Mate - Happy spending !! Engine work wise - if you want good honest advice on the build, doing the build for you and sourcing parts at competitive rates - depending on your budget and aims, your man is DYL 4N

I would go and see Godspeed brakes and speak to Ian about fitting the 4 pot brakes of a Hawkeye or similar newage if you have 2 pot front brake calipers with uprated brake pads. I sold mine to Dylan and they made a major difference on his car.

If you already have 4 pot calipers then uprate the brake pads or if you really want to spend then AP 6 Racing pot caliper conversion or a cheaper alternative is the K Sport 8 pots.

Also I need the steering and suspension geometry looked at on my car so I am interested in your earlier posts but how can corner weighting improve the handling, I have Apex Gen 2 coilovers fitted.

PM your number mate and i call to explain ( its alot easier )

the car is on standard brakes atm and i belive the passenger caliper has started to stick so now would be a good time to upgrade instead of replace.

As i sia dbefore my 1st baby is due in december and me and mrs are moving house soon ( first home) so i need to find the most cost effective way to do this.

If i change to the newage 4pots , do i need adaptor brackets ? what dics to use? ( same as the newage im guessing? lol ) and also what about the rear brakes??? thanks for advise guys

You should have the standard 2 pot setup, so switching to the later 4Pots is a good idea, You don't have to change the wheels either for this setup.

4Pot's plus disc's and uprated pads is fine for the power you have. have a look on here or ebay for some, should be around £200-300 for the set up depending on what discs/pads you go for. Please bear in mind that most calipers for sale are approx 10 years old if from a classic and may need the pistions replacing as they rust and stick. as said by Cannon Fodder try and get some of a later car
