Come on Paul even as a die hard Chelsea fan you have to see that Terry was shockingly bad. None of the back 4 played well and were all out of place every time we were defending.
I can't stand Rio Ferdinand but it shows in the back 4 when he isn't playing as they are totally disorganised without Ferdinand to lead the line. Even had Ferdinand been able to play it wouldn't have changed the fact our midfield was totally devoid of any creativity.
Rebuilding the team is one thing but you need to have the players good enough to do so and I don't think they exist in the Premiership.

Terry was only saying what the whole country was thinking, yes maybe he shouldn't have said it on tv, but you're not telling me he said those things without the backing of most of the players. They wet their pants when they tought they'd get dropped!
As for shockingly bad? shockingly bad was very good, compared to the rest of the team (with the exception of Ashley and Lamps )

Lets be fair to Adebayor. His wife had a kid during the world cup and he stayed on air for a week talking about football before deciding he'd go see his child. Now that's a real man!

Brazil never got out of 1st gear all tournament and didn't have to until today. They were far too complacent at 1-0 and never stepped up the gears as they had threatened to in the 1st 15 minutes. Holland were terrible in the 1st half but transformed in the 2nd. I wanted a Brazil Argentina final but on today's lack of effort they didn't deserve to go through.
Tonight's game was a cracker. I'd said Uraguay were one of the teams to watch out for and wanted them to win to start with but seeing the Ghanaians play so well I changed my support to them. I was angered by the handball and the penalty miss but then had to think back that Uraguay should have had a clear penalty earlier in the game that was missed by the ref. Two wrongs don't make a right but for me they sort of cancelled each other out.
The penalty shoot out was hopeless but then after missing that last minute penalty their nerves must have been shot. I feel sorry for Ghana and think they would have made for more entertaining oppenents against Holland.

Wait with the plane back to South America lads, 50 more people coming.
And another team which seems to be built around 1 player (Messi, in this case)
goes home.
England-Rooney
Portugal-Ronarsehole
Brazil-Kaka
are examples of other teams, who failed while they had "the prodigal son" in their midst.
Argentina never was in the game, did not get any offence going, was a shamble in the defence, and effectively had NO midfield.
That the Argentine defence is not the best, and lacks speed was clear as day beforehand, what I find strange is that the one player who has some speed on defense (Masherano)failed so openly and frequently.
Germany will be a contender, with the way they are going I can not see a team that can stop them TBH.
Not even Holland, that is for sure.

And I think there is still more in the team as well.
With players like Mario Gomez on the bench they still have the capability to turn it up a notch.
We'll see in the Semi-final as Müller is barred from that game how and if Löw will bring him.
(Lets face it, a 30m€ player is bound to be quite good)

Time we stopped hearing the myth of South American football from the pundits......
Also...........maybe time OTHER countries started doing what Germany are doing: putting together a world squad and finding reasons they are German
Two or three poles a brazilian and a mexican..........Now why can't England organise something like that?

Yellow/Red card brandishers
No not the refs, but those filthy cheats who race to the ref after a foul waving an imaginary card in his face, to try and get another player booked or sent-off. Why doesn't FIFA bring in this simple new rule to stamp it out?...
Any player seen to be waving an imaginary card or heard calling out for a card should immediately be yellow-carded by the ref for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
That would soon put a stop to it.
Simple(s).
