All for a bit of fun f1 in the right place . You however are like a broken record. This thread is about the engine failing in someones pride and joy. Hardly the approriate place i would have thought for more your anti hatch routine

It just becomes so boring

Yep and if I had posted it on page 1 before he got news that his engine was to be sorted then you just might have a point.

Anyway just stick me on gnore if I bother you so much. As I said this place was a lot more fun before it went all PC and back when Subarus were reliable!!!

I will leave it there

That's the trouble with goodwill work... you're always gunna get bumped to the bottom if a paying customer comes in.

Thats the key point guys - if FHI (or FHI's piston supplier probably) did re-design the piston in some way to help prevent the ring failure if it runs lean then they & IM will want to keep that very quiet....

They wouldn't want anyone (especially those owners with the old pistons who still have warranty time left!) to know they have designed out the problem with both component mods as well as software - effectively admitting that the hardware is not up to the job (which is of course what the majority of engine experts who'll give an opinion on this are saying).

if there is a change then it will show up on the parts screen when you order the part, they have just changed the oil filters again so a new part no. and they are now from the u.s
