when i went to the northern end of the country
i was driving through a field on a single track backward sort of road on a shortcut i came across a level crossing with a padlocked gate and a guy sitting in a little cabin , you could see up and down the track for miles each way . he told us to wait while he came out unlocked the gate and waved us through the re locked the gate and went back into his hut ?bearing in mind this was not a main line track as looked like a industrial line that was not used very often due to the overgrowth of bushes ect . we were about 3 miles each way from a main road
so id emagine he just sits there all day doing **** all , that is a pointless job
imo
why the gate and why the man , all you do is stop look left look right and the road we were on didnt look like it was used very often as we were the only car for miles of driving .
