Couldn't find his email address anywhere so I rang, Phil was out so talked to someone else who sort of new what I was going in about, he told me ring my local subaru dealer (35 miles away) and talk to them, they on the other hand did not have a clue what I meant, there checking for recalls on my car and getting back to me. I'm not holding my breath. So iv ordered some no smoking signs for cold mornings.

What's phils email address? I tried this with my last newage and got totally fobbed off but I have a newage wagon now and this week the smell is horrible. I do have mods so has anyone had any luck with mods getting a repair done?

I spoke to phil, advice was to take it to a dealer & get it looked at, dealer advised it will take 1/1.5 hr to check out, I advised them about the bulletin & said by the time I get there, 35 mile drive away the smell will be gone, plus I forgot to ask if there was a cost in looking at the car as he said hopefully they could sort the problem out in this time frame. Hmm thinking they will try to sting me at the dealer. Is this smell dangerous?I am 2 minds whether to pop the car along. Everyone else seems to have got the go ahead for the work by checking the vin, phil asked for no info so bit sceptical.

But he said that there may be a cost to me depending on what is/ is not found.
Now I have to book for inspection with dealer.
So I'm going to speak with my nearest dealer tomorrow.
Did you fix your car and did the dealer charge you?

"If its the fuel lines causing the smell it will be free, if its something else it won't be" is what I was told at the dealers, there was no fuel smell when I was there or evidence of it, they just have to take your word for I suppose, wether they do there own checks on the vin I don't know but phil did not ask me for mine either

I spoke to my local Subaru dealer on Friday and booked inspection for 6th March.
I was told that it will take day or two not like dealer advised to gra2730 1/1.5 hr.
So I'm going to drop Scooby off on Tuesday 5th and will wait for news.

Scooby came back home yesterday. They didn't find any evidence of petrol smell and fixed it under warranty as Subaru UK instructed dealer.
They found some other things to do and fixed them too but I paid for parts only.
