In our old car ( which was going to be sold imminently anyway) a joint of pork I had bought at the shops leaked into the back seat... didnt realise it had got on the seat till the smell hit me one day..... It was rank. I took the rear seat out, and jet washed it and left it in the sun to drive, and poured a few bottles of aromatherapy oil on the base.. it didnt smell for the next couple of weeks, but whether it did when the weather got hot I dont know coz we sold it
Get it professionally steam cleaned, then just in case spray some of that carpet freshner foam on the carpets and under the seats

I am going to have one final look in the car tomorrow. Cos the car is new to me i have prolly missed a hidey hole and not having back doors makes it harder to look.
One good thing, i am in London tomorrow and if someone tries to wash the windows when i stop at the lights i will open the window so they smell my car
Anna, the car smells bad even when its really cold.

I hate to actually try and help but maybe buy some fabreeze spray and give the car a good going over inside when you're not going to use it for a few hours. I'd guess the one for dog and animal pongs is the best. May kill some bacteria causing the smell and ease things a little.

That would be my guess.
I once got a mouse in my Volvo. Don't know how it got there but the evidence was in the boot. When I was driving along one day I kept seeing bits of black dust falling in front of me. I eventually realized it had got into the roof lining and was munching on the foam, and the dust was bits of foam falling down a small gap between the roof lining and the windscreen. Put some poison in the car and obviously got it, but it died in the roof lining and for a couple of weeks the car stank and nothing would mask the smell. Had to drive with the windows down but the smell did eventually go away.

Rodents like to keep warm in cold conditions. Your nice warm engine bay/interior/heater system would seem a welcoming place when the car is off.
Rodent pops in/on/up which ever section it chose and had a little nap.
You jump in and fire it up, bits start moving, heating up, vents shutting, blah blah blah, rodent is trapped and ends up like one of those poor suckers in the saw movies..... brown bread=Rotting corpse!
Look anywhere something could have crawled in and then subsequently pegged it.

Your just trying to bump your post count up lol. Facebook is behaving odd tonight too.
No, its not that. I had that in my scoob and when i used the water it stunk. This smell is there more when the car is not being used. I used the water earlier and its fine.

I wonder how long it takes something to completely rot away.
