***CONVOY ROUTE AND MEET TIME***
Hey guys, we will need to be at the Shakespeare County Raceway no later than 10:00am so we will be meeting at Stechford Retail Park (B33 9AN) at 8:30am to leave no later than 8:45am.
The route will be very similar to that of the Prodrive P1 meet in May, except instead of getting on the M40 we'll keep going straight towards Stratford.
The route will take us down the Coventry Road (A45), M42, Warwick Road, Warwick Bypass and then a few roads in Stratford I don't really know (perhaps someone - Crash? - more local can lead the convoy from this point!)
If you would like the convoy to stop anywhere else on the way, or do a "rolling pick-up" then please say ASAP and I can ammend the route.
Here is a link to the Google Map:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...22007&t=h&z=12
And here is the written route:
Driving directions to Shakespeare County Raceway
32.6 mi – about 1 hour 1 min
Final Destination is:
Shakespeare County Raceway
Long Marston Airfield, Campden Road
Lower Quinton, Stratford-Upon-Avon CV37 8LL
Entry is £12 and UNLIMITED drag runs is a further £20 (you must have a helmet though).
Should be a good day, so get your names down!

Stick your rear wheel in the wet bit, and warm yr tyre up m8 - Easy
Creep upto the line, dont blink and have fun
Many years ago, Shakespeare County Raceway, Yamaha Exup, tuned 1000cc sub 10 sec.

does your front wheel not drift about on the rubber? or does the fact that the strip is just rubber mean you have good grip all the way down ?
Did you have an extended swinging arm?

No mate, the surface is well sticky, so grips like glue, chasis was std m8, hence the wheelie, just lean as far forward as you can, if the wheel comes up then you loose time.
Change gear bang on the red, all std bike engines "power curve" tail off once in the red
I used to let my legs dangle back for a while to keep my c of grav. forward, prob not a great idea for you as you need to change gear, my exup had a long first gear (so i could use it on the track as well), so a quick change wasnt important.
with your bike it will be very important to keep yourself as small as poss. so once pulled away remember to grip your knees in tight and get as low as poss on yr tank, Decrease in Wind Resistance = Quicker time.
Lastly try to keep the weight down as much as poss, so dont run with a full tank of fuel, and have a good sh*te before you go........
H - Old picture...er will try to see what i can do m8, but basically me but younger, more hair, more alcohol in my system
