Yep, you're right guys. Have spoken to Kev at scoobyclinic, new gearbox would be needed. We're talking about £11,000 all-in, which I just dont have, so im splitting over a year, im getting forged pistons, gaskets, fluids, a brembo brake kit (2nd hand off a hatch STI thats only done 6000 miles), that lot comes to a whopping £4,500-£5,000. I'll get the turbo, gearbox and upipe/intake pipes end of next year.
Put yours back to stock, sell it and get a hawkeye jdm
If you throw £11,000 at yours at the end of the day it will still be a wrx and to get your money back you will have to strip it and sell the parts when you come to sell the car.

Ive thrown away most of the bits Ive changed. Ive still got the air filter box, cat-downpipe and original recirc valve, but heck to it. With the springs that are on order and other bits, yep, it'll have a WRX badge, but that'll be about it. By next year, im getting it upto 460bhp so it wont even be a wrx any more. The year after, I'll be concentraing on the insides, (seats, harnesses, dials, gauges and so on). I intend to keep it as long as it stays on the road.
When Ive had scoobs in the past (via lease hire, 12 months contracts) and then had to change to another car coz a scoob wasnt available, I used to dream about driving it. Never had that ever happen, I'm happy driving anything, but when it comes to scoobies, its a passion and I can only dream peacefully when Ive got one parked in the drive knowing Im going to be driving it when I wake up.
Long live the Impreza!

Nokia Speed Trap Detector Urban Legend spread by Nokia Engineers ;^)
The settings for radar speed traps detector. Your Nokia cell phone can be programmed to pick up radar speed traps, when programmed your cell phone picks up the radar and alerts you on the message alert tone. ( Doesn't work with Nokia 7110! )
1. Enter your menu
2. Select settings
3. Select security settings
4. Select closed user group
5. Select on
6. Enter 00000
7. Press ok
8. Clear back to normal, within a few seconds your phone will display a radar sign with five zero's next to it. It is now activated.
Unfortunately only Nokia phones have this function. The Cell Phone info display needs to be de-activated. Settings -> Phone Settings -> Cell Info display. Each time you turn off your phone, or even each time you loose contact with your carrier, you'll have to activate it again... It is done using steps 1 through 5 above, but the number (00000) will be already on the field as a default.
