seriously considering it if I can get a half decent offer or price for mine, I've just had enough mate. I've spent all the time and effort getting it to run right and it's taken the fun out of it for me ad, I'm now thinking that a complete change is probably gonna be better than risk disappointment with another impreza. Don't worry though ad, I'll still be down pole on a regular basis
I quite fancy an Evo 8 or 9, although I've always had a soft spot for the 6 too
just dunno what to value mine at. If I put a what's it worth thread in the for sale section then I'm just gonna get the "not worth much in today's market" brigade rather than an honest answer

I paid 6k for mine and ideally I'd like to get that back for it, I like the 6 but at the moment the 6 speed gearbox in the Evo 8's is swinging it for me. I've sent Birchy a message on the mlr earlier when I popped on there
but you like it so much when I'm a gayer

But it's a sorted now. So why can't you enjoy it? Any car you buy can have unknown issues when you buy them, and could lead to the same initial disappointment. Get your mind right, start driving and enjoying the JDM, get to some meets etc to rekindle the love, track days, whatever it takes.
Give it a go, it is as though you've already given up on a great car

it is sorted now, and it is completely different to how it was before BUT it's the lies and the issues that I've had to find and sort out to get it to this point that it is currently at.
I understand what you are saying about any car that you buy could have issues but when you buy from a well respected company with a massive reputation for building engines etc then you kind of expect there to be no issues at all and even if there is a little niggle here or there you don't expect them to start on day 1 of ownership.
I'm only really driving the car to work and back at the moment but when you drive a transit van for 10.5 hours a day (I'm sure anyone who drives for a living will back me up) you don't particularly want to start driving for the hell of it at the end of the day and with my weekends been taken up with various other activities at the minute then driving isn't really a priority at the moment, which also kind of rules out meets too.

I see where you're coming from with your theory, it's very difficult to explain without potentially upsetting a few people exactly how I feel but then perhaps I'm being too nice for my own good.
Andy is pretty much one of the only people other than ad that have actually seen the car close up and fully understands the issues that I've had and the condition the car was in on the day I picked it up (dirty and stunk like a barn) and it was only once I got the car home and got it cleaned properly that the true condition of the bodywork became apparent.
I guess I'm just stuck in a catch 22 situation. It's like living in a really nice area but some little ****** keeps putting your front windows through every night, eventually you're gonna sell your house and move elsewhere or just hope that it stops eventually

Just **** it off and buy an Evo your Neva goin to be happy with it especially if ur not going to get it painted I admit the body work is bad but 2k for a spray is another expense you don't want to spend its up to u what u do Tom just go with whatever u feel I hope u do get ur money bck for the car so ur not out of pocket to much
I have always seen the evo 'itch' as a grasses greener on the otherside type of issue. Think you will enjoy owning one but....... I think it's that particular car you are not happy with as opposed to type of car. Just food for thought. No doubt you will enjoy evo ownership but for how long?
