Also does anyone know where I can get a decent cover for my classic with big prodrive spoiler as I catch the train to work with my new job so my car just sits on my drive all day catching sap off the trees!
Cliff,
WTF do you need an oil cooler for? You taking it on track now?
Shaun, two weeks ago driving around Cov the temp went up to 140. The warning light went on at 120 and it just kept rising. It normally sits around 95-105. It put me off driving the thing. Now we have had problems with the gauges from the day they were fitted, but David has some replacement ones for me to try. I may change the gauges and wait on the oil cooler, to see it the problem ever returns but I will track day the car in the future so I will need one eventually.
Which one... There have been several over the years.
I have them all scanned at home and can send them to you if you like, along with the inaccessible original SPEC C modification articles I created years ago on here.

2.5's do tend to run hotter than their 2ltr counterparts.
With my SPEC C oil cooler in place (with the 2.5 engine) I normally saw between 90-95degs on cruise (on motorway) and round town. Nailing the pants off it on the road, it would reach just under 100degs. Of course the SPEC C oil cooler is quite puny in size and not ideal for this kind of thing.
I would suggest your gauges are incorrect...... 140degs is very very high, if it were true, which I suspect it's not.
Good call on the oil cooler for track use..... whilst it is not absolutely needed, without it you would need to take it easier and do cool down runs more often. Fitting an oil cooler will at least mean you can enjoy yourself for longer.

Morning all, Got my gasket done yesterday so the engine sounds sweet again, Off to have my leaky CV done this afternoon then the scoob is all fixed and running good again!

It was just going up and up, and I pulled up and stopped the car in the end. Didnt do it before and hasnt done it since. I will get advise about the cooler from David when he replaces the gauges and on "oil selection".
On a more annoying note, after my remap at thwaites yesterday thought I'd pop round a mates and take him for a little blast. Anyway when we got back we sat in the car chatting next thing I know we hear a pop and steam pours from my bonnet scoop. Lifted the bonnet to find the turbo to water feed hose had split and lost loads of coolant. After a helping hand from my mates dad we managed to get a piece of hose he had lying in his garage on just to get me home. Anyway I'm waffling on now, basically I just want to know what is the best hose to get to replace it for a good price? Been looking at this???
The Blitz centre section actually tapers to 2.5" to fit the standard system. I had that cut off and made it a full 3" all the way
I'm having a slight dilemma with mine at the minute, I'm not sure if my downpipe is a long or short type and the centre section I am going to have custom made will be fitted at a different garage to the place where I'm having my downpipe fitted (downpipe fitted at pole position)
The downpipe is a full 3" but the centre section that's currently on the car is 2.5" flange, I'm unsure if the two will mate up and if they do then it will probably blow like a hooker do you think it would be safe to drive from willenhall to Kingswinford with it blowing? it will be staying off boost and driven very gently

Shouldn't be an issue mate, just drive steady off boost as you say and I can't see a problem with that!
Hmm, if it was me personally I'd just take the chance but not everyones as laxy as me!! lol
think I will just drive it VERY carefully between the 2 garages then might cable tie it up too once its in place just to make sure it doesn't fall apart
