Well I've now got a hks silent power zorst on my classic and boy, is it quiet. When mark@Thwaites maps my simtek I will have some nice antilag going on. But I can't find any videos of what it will sound like with such a quiet zorst like mine. Anyone heard any or can find a YouTube vid?

I personally wouldnt be happy with a messed with pipe but if its the milltek with the silencer you would def notice a difference in sound. Totally up to you mate millteks arent a cheap system but I couldnt see there being any difference in performance. Everyone elses opinion may differ though.
Depending on your Mods a 3" turbo back will give you more freedom when you go bigger power, but loose a bit of torque lower down with the standard VF35, not that you would probably notice IMO.

one of the loudest because its one of the worst filtering filters going! Came second last in a filtering test, only behind the even more rubbish HKS mushroom!

Lol that doesn't surprise me. Mine didn't stay on long as it was so annoying and went straight back to airbox with panel filter since then.

Interestingly, a good friend of mine fitted a HKS mushroom filter on his car, he said it wasn’t running right so we hooked up the wideband and knock sensor and took it for a spin.

We found that at around 5k upward it was running really lean and knocking like mad.

Point im trying to make is, If you change your intake setup to anything other than the standard Air box, get it checked, NA cars not a big problem, Turbo Charged cars run the risk of running lean up top and detting your engine, the ecu can only do so much.

He's now running the Standard Air box with a K&N panel filter, Even that benefited with a tweak in the map.

I was just referring to the silenced 3" miltek and a H&S 3" centre and the only noticeable difference being sound.

I personally would not use a HKS mushroom.. the K&N cone filters are probably the only ones I would really trust. Probably actually cheaper than the mushroom too!

Apexi have very good filtration rates also, whilst maintaining a very good and high air flow.

I had a HKS mushroom on my sti when I first bought it, not only did it keep throwing my engine management light on but above 5k the power just died. The only advantage it did have was that it made my exhaust quite a bit louder and the induction noise was nice.

I soon ditched it and went for a standard airbox with a Do-Luck panel filter inside it which gave a proven 12.9bhp increase in Japanese performance magazine on a completely standard 2005 sti, and the power doesn't seem to drop off until close to the redline now either
