Those Warranties that backstreet garages supply arn't worth the paper there printed on.
It's just a quick way garages can make a bit more money on top of the sale. They say it's for your piece of mind but the truth is it's very rare that any of these warranties actually pay out.
Are you going to take legal advice or put it down to experience?
All the best.....

Those warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on! If the seller isn't going to put right I would take further action as the car isn't fit for purpose.

It's in the small print..
I have been in exactly the same position a few years ago when i purchased my motor. The Rad on mine started leaking water the day after i bought it,i phoned the place where i bought it from only to be told that the owner was away on holiday.
I am not saying this to make you worry all i am saying is speak to the owner when he gets back to try to reach an agreement,if that fails you need to take this further you have a strong case against the car dealer.
From what i have read you have hardly driven the car plus with the mileage that it has done this engine problem shouldn't have happened.
Have you got full service history and does the mileage add up?..

yer it has full history and all mileage and stamps seem genuine it looks like it has had a small fortune spent on it from all the reciepts which is what steered me towards it as i thought it had been looked after

It sounds like he knew about the problem before he sold it to you, claiming it was just the plug. Wait till he returns from his holiday, confront him and tell him how you feel and then take some legal advice. Your other option is to do what I did, take it off the road for a year, save up your pennies, and get a re-build. Its painful but I didnt see any other choice other than breaking it..

Hey all, a local chap called Rav is selling a set of wheels amd tyres from his (now sold) 2005 STi.
Wheels are the Enkei variety and are for 2005 upwards STis with 5x114 PCD.
Tyres are Bridgestone RE070s - which are very good tyres in 225/45/17.

Let me know if you are interested and will put you in touch with him - he is rav123 on here

Pics of the wheels and tyres for Rav
