My first divorce cost me £150 and the second one cost £220, i got all the forms from the local courts myself, very easy to do, iirc its a D89 or similar. After getting the forms i wrote a list out of all the things i wasnt sure off or needed to know, most solicitors give a free 30 min consultation so i just went with my list to around 5 or 6 solicitors and worked my way through the list until i had all the info i needed, filled all the paperwork out myself, seriously very easy and posted off.
First one went swimingly, second was harder as my wife had left the country, i had previously used bailiffs etc to serve the paperwork (£10) she wouldnt send the paperwork back but the courts werent bothered as i could prove that the paperwork had been sent to her and was told i didnt have to prove she sent it back just prove that she had received it, both cases were based on two year mutaul seperation.
Really hope this helps as i know what a nightmare it can be.....................and before you ask i am married again and its not because i am addicted to wedding cake lol
