Parcel farce?

Don't be suprised if it ends up at a post office 10 miles down the road

So did mine

They are Seagate Barrcudas 7200.12 as opposed to the orginal pipeline. One is up and running doing a re-sync as I type.

One thing I'm missing; the fixing screws, and you can't use normal HD screws as they need to be countersunk to fit the caddy.

I've temporarily robbed two screws from the other caddy. I also noted the screws were loose; which may explain why the HD seemed noisy when acessing. Worth checking whilst your messing about fitting the other drive.

Yep my new drive is the same Barracuda 7200.12 which is a faster spin speed to the Pipeline.

The screws are in a little packet in with the warranty card for the Duo, 8 of them

Mines in and you dont even have to switch it off.

I've had three emails from the NAS:
  1. Disc add event occured on SATA channel 2.
  2. RAID event detected, Disk initialization successfully finished.
  3. RAID sync started on volume C.

I have a little green light chugging away at the moment

what speed are your reporting and what type of Raid?

Mine says:

X-RAID (Expandable RAID), 2 disks
Status: Resync 37% complete, Time to finish 2 hr 38 min, Speed 62.4 MB/sec

The disk only has 100GB on it so 3 hours + to RAID it seems slow...

I thought it would only do RAID X.

I have next to bugger all on mine and it took about 5 hours.

Yeah it took about five hours for only 150gig ; Maybe it slow-formatted/wiped the drive before syncing
