If youve been having issues for the last week then I doubt its the same problem.

I just checked mine and clock is stuck at 31/12 23:48 and just keeps cycling back to that as I navigate across the XMB.

Oh well Wii Sports Resort it is tonight!

Yeah i saw that on AVF, I payed £170 for it on AVF last month, ive turned it on twice!

Heres a little guide to get back online for anyone confident in opening the console......

Follow the one of the many dismantle guides:

Playstation 3 Disassembly Tutorial

Until you get to the part about removing Mainboard and rear sockets in one go:

http://www.llamma.com/PS3/repair/dis...F0444thumb.jpg

Lift out MB and turn over.

See Battery... unplug it for 5 mins.... give the big dirty fan a clean.

Put it back together. RTC bug fixed.

Alternatively try this.....

Sucks doesn't it Bet Bill Gates is a bit happier today though.
I did read abit about this today and some say the fix for this may be a while off ....and I had just reached 116,450th place in the World score rankings (now I'll never be number one)

Yep back online now and all seems to be ok. Online MW2 ranking is fine and Spec Ops progress the same.

Just Sony programming it to think that 2010 was a leap year The date roll over fixed the issue - although some will have to update their clocks via the console again.

Yes. Most users will just need to update their time/date settings; either manually or via the internet. No need to connect the console to the net if you don't want to, it's not online related.

Is the 60gb the one with the 4 usb ports, card reader, backward compatible etc? I guess they pretty rare now.

Just manually update the date/time. A permenant fix should be coming out in a future firmware update, but the circumstances that caused this won't occur for another 4 years, so no rush!
