I've never lost control of myself during the "talks"
However, I've more of a pretty blunt and straight to the point type of guy.

Unfortunately it does also give you a bit of a reputation
Alas as I do tell people look business is business - nothing personal

FWIW i think it is real difficult to get across how you would 'act', in words on an internet forum.

It is not just the words either, body language is just as important, for instance standing over someone, lean't in real close looking down and into their eyes is a lot more intimidating than both sat in comfy chairs - even with he same words.

I have always said that if it was a choice would prefer to be respected than liked

Really good leaders of men (and girlies) empower, motivate and enthuse people, rule by fear is not the best way to get the best results. Cr@p people exist, train them, work with them then bin them if they are still rubbish

Whenever I have seen that sort of behaviour, it has been by a man who is in a position of power, but who is unsure of himself.
