This is just my opinion on the ESL side of things - the MAF based one works better at controlling the fueling and providing a better running car. If the MAP based used temperature compensations then it would be ideal but with the MAF disconnected it has no method of knowing inlet temps.

MAF's arent all bad - they do a great job of measuring airflow most of the time.

Hey Dunc,

You've been repeating yourself a lot this morning, but this one is only posted once. Must have had your second coffee now.

3 is the most that can be done generally without worry because not all will go exactly to plan, issues with the car can sometimes throw a spanner in the works and delay things.

Not true Dunc, ESL MAFless has proper temperature compensation if you fit a sensor, the MAF array then becomes the load compensation array.

Depends what you want to do Dave, nothing wrong with sticking with the MAF unless you run out of headroom/get reversion in the inlet due to a monster turbo. The ESL test car made exactly the same power on an orange label MAF as it did MAFless (398bhp, 20g, 2 litre, V power). Of course, if you do want to go mafless at a later date, ESL is the only option I know of that allows you to run MAF based or MAFless.
