Damn, took off the solenoid (as its quiet at work) and bench tested it..... the damn thing clicks when powered up!!! Cleaned it as best as possible. Going to refit it later and test it again- starting to think its the wastegate actuator itself now.

Right....... Spent the day fettling with the car today. Fitted my oem dump valve back on (as i was fed up of people looking at me like i was a total winkle every time i changed gear!!) and found that the tee piece on the boost meters vacuum tubing was loose- so i was probably losing a smidge of boost there! So i sorted that with a new piece and some clamps. Fitted a prosport boost gauge with memory function. Then took her for a spin- found i'm getting pretty much 1.1bar in 2nd and 3rd, but it seems to tail off and drop as the revs get quite high 6000rpm ish. and about 1.2 in 4th and 5th, couldn't get those gears high enough to see if boost dropped. It's 1st is only making about 0.8 bar, is this right or should it be the same as the rest of the gears????

Lower boost in 1st as less load extra.
Sounds like you found the issue.
Welcome to pop over for a pwr run and check on thursday
