its down to some engines are more efficient, i come from a ford background but the cvh turbo engine ( as fitted to a escort turbo or fiesta) requies MORE fuel than a YB engine (cossie) to get the same BHP, you need grays on a erst to get 300bhp and on a cossie they aint needed till 360bhp
and judging by the fuel economy of a impreza,,,, i would say its not as efficient in design as a evo engine
the parts and work for subarus are also a big factor, 4 cams required not2, 4 adjustable pullys, the injectors are "different design" as they are side fed (i know other cars are but not as many as top fed) blah blah blah
now to get 500bhp from a scooby is more than the cars worth with the classics so generally aint done i guess

i do laugh out loud as some of the comments on here some of you guys,girls are in cookoo land how can you say a scooby with the same power as an evo is faster? when evey test done evo wins hands down and run rings around subaru all day every day face it guys .

haha gets a 340bhp evo and thinks its the fastest car on the road I can show you how slow your car is if you want and even make it look like your car is parked up when I start going thru the gears

I think I'm at around £42k including the car and if you think thats a lot ask billyt how much his evo stands him and thats with him doing all the work
as for 1/4 miles I'm the weak point in this as my gear changes are shocking and I average 11.9 with a 127mph terminal. I have ran these times consistently. With a proper driver behind the wheel the times would be much lower. I was at the marhan day last year and the car with less power does 170mph top end.

if you see me you race me by all means steve il know the sound of yours its like a cg125 honda .. you need 600bhp with your weight in it 
Bring your piddly car to the Marham 30-130 event this year as I will be there and you can then prove how much superior your car is
I do laugh at this as mine is a marmite car and if I was to post a picture of it most would say the kit is horrible yet if you ask people what they considered to be the best looking car be it evo/scooby/skyline they all seem to have one thing in common and thats they all have the same/similar kit as mine does.

best looking car is 22b/P1
wish i had the money to get RCM to of built my P1 up to the 600+
but i sold up for a 05 sti was a bad move spent lots to try and make it feel like the P1

Why do the MLR lot have to act like 12 year olds, where as most of scoobynet can have a mature discussion regarding the original question. If you do not have anything of note to add to thread sling ye hook back to the MLR.
