Somethings massively wrong with those dyno graphs (and from the looks of it all the other results). Huge dip in power ... like that went into limp mode at the end. Is it really mapped to low 12's AFR ?
Did they not have any fans ?
How were the cars strapped down ?
Did they have an RPM pickup or was a speed learning done per car ?
Why were the runs only started at 2700rpm ?
Was any pre-loading on the cars done to build boost ?
Where was the intake temp sensor placed as the readings for these appear very low?

Cars strapped from front left to front right and vice versa plus same at the back.
From what i saw they did a quick run and inputted a value from a handheld unit into the computer on each car.
Pass on the rest.
when mine was mapped it made 286/308 on the road dyno. Since then i've fitted an sti top mount and ported headers. I did my own power run on thursday using ecuedit and i got 295/310. Today it only made 242/255.
Also mine didn't seem to be making the boost it was mapped at 1.3 v 1.45 bar.

i would eat my last 50p if they were right, its abit funny that nearly all the cars were down on what power they thought they had, seems abit consistant for the full day for me.
Large fan placed at the front of the car plus a fan at the rear of the cell.

not bad for a 12 year old car with just a full decat and i.k. was expecting a bit more. i agree that it was about 20hp down. was a good day out though and thanks for organising it coops. and thanks for the scoop gary.

heres my results..
dont quite understand what he was saying about mine running very rich..
its giving me better fuel economy and was running fine when mapped with Duncan
heres a video of my run i recorded..
YouTube - Dyno Run Clip.mp4
am sure one of the fellas has a better quality one, forgot who recorded it..
either way i think a day at AET will show a huge difference

I still say spend the money on the chassis, not power. I never had any bother keeping up with or even pulling away from anyone in my old car running whatever an 03 WRX with PPP might get. Coilovers, bars, bracing, superb tyres and plenty of driver tuition made me much faster than a disappointing computer printout ! On track, 400+ might be a serious benefit, but on the road in the hands of a good driver, a good chassis with 280-300 will outperform 400+ with a poor chassis and questionable driving.

The rollers may of been right or not, but I am sure the comparison between cars is accurate.
If you go to other rollers and they show higher BHP are they right just because they are higher and you want them to be right.
The fact your car has more power than mine & my car has more power than yours I beleave is accurate on the day on the numbers, but 100 BHP been 100 BHP might not be right,
My 1st roller day with a group of guys( car been on roller by my self) Had a great day. good turn out
Think most people did too.
PS Carl Your figures are not up yet. WHY.
Running 13.7 Air ratio. NO det...... METHANOL is the way to save the planet
And the Subaru engine.
20 to 25 BHP down is only my thought.
RB320 should be 317BHP std it made 290
Clio 197. not too sure what they are std, at a guess 197... he was about 15 or so down.

bez had a good day mate dont get me wrong but i the rollers must of been out for the mod and percentages people were running, turbos, boost, injector duty etc.... just didn't seem right
dont know if we could put a bhp loss figure on it or a percentage of what people were running ??? the lower powered cars seemed to do quite well where as the higher ones seemed to suffer a fair loss.
i don't know dyno's and its only my opinion, but if everyone had a good day out (despite figures) then i guess thats the real result.

rb 320
Had my car from new and know it is a very fast car 316 bhp and 320 flb 415nm
The guy at the rollas did not know about the RB 320 and did not know what they should make ?????????
Makes you feel a bit un easy at the people doing the Dyno, had the car on the drad strip and did 13 .1 sec not a 290bhp car. I know the Tourque was good but you would have thought a 21/2 year old car should have not lost so much power 10 % ,I have heard of RB 320 making more than the off fig.
Going to take the car to AET and see what the the power is there ,just to see if its a correct fig ( will post results )as its got me a bit puzzled ( and a bit pi##ed TBO )
When Bezes car was on the dyno ,and other higher powerd cars the wheels were spinning causing tyre smoke ,this will be a factor of a lower result, cars which are not as powerfull had no wheel spin etc so power could be a true reading.
I have been to many rolling roads and never seen cars so loose on the rollas ,this would cause the wheel slip.
I think the day was good to meet everyone and put a name to a face though

It was a good day, a great set of mates having a laugh together. My results were low but i enjoyed the experience of having my car on a rolling road for the first time. I will be going back to rs when i fit my VF35/injectors and have it mapped again, we will see what it makes then.
As i said earlier i will pass your questions onto paul @ RS.

Good on yer. The general feeling I got from 'eggy's' post above was that many people were disappointed. I've been involved in this community for a great many years, and seen many, many people spend some quite ridiculous money chasing ever bigger power numbers to brag about, and often seen lots of them disappointed in the car they often ruin by making them too powerful and hardcore for use on public roads. It becomes severely obsessive, where everything down to the dustcaps and wheel nuts has to be changed, and the fascination even expressed in their clothing. Lots of the people I've known have blown the cash for nothing, doing just a few thousand miles a year as the hobby has been purely about the car and not about actually driving it.

Tweaks I agree with you the Higher the number should of been the greater the loss, but not a set persentage..
Corrado. you are right in what you say, but today was only a numbers day, not suspension, Brakes poly bushes. But just engine numbers,
The biggest number was the winner.
Now on a track day or a race the coil overs, polies, and your stoppers , and driver abbility come befor BHP. today BHP is king.

A rolling road is merely a tool to aid setting up a car, it isn't an actual road.
That's why I had mine mapped on the road.... for use on the road.
IMHO

Alright Coops,
Before the rolling road i was hoping for a good healthy standard figure which i thought was 214hp but as the cars were coming off the road with less power than predicted. approx 20-25 hp i presumed my would have been down on power also that's why i pedicted a figure in the 180's? I don't know what my 2001 wrx should be as standard as there a two figures floating around for this. some say 227 hp or something like that,so if thats the case i'm 5hp down on standard so looks like everybody's figures were low, but if they are 20-25 hp out maybe my cars giving a bit more???? we need a donor car to compare this at Rs tuning and another known rolling road, i may be supprised with the results.
Still a good day had by all me thinks and look forward to seeing you guys again soon

i think by the sounds of it another rr day at another venue could be in order.should be good to compair how different the figures turn out, maybe they will maybe they wont.and maybe i will be able to make the next one too,i am hoping for atleast 225 bhp.
