Carbon Fibre Vinyl
Hi guys purchased some of this 3M carbon wrap and just wondering has anyone got any tips on the edging?!
I can do the flat parts ok but when it comes to folding it over the edge or a curved surface it lumps up on the corners or where i fold it!!
Any comment welcome, cheers in advance.

the reason its like that is I bought the sti bonnet from ebay but it arrived damaged on the edge and front lip so I repaired it the best I could using a small hammer as its only alloy, but I wasn't really happy with the finish so I decided to cover the 2 sides with this stuff.
to make it match I did the zun grill and the two things either side in the carbon wrap too, im going to do the roof as soon as ive got some spare cash, ile happily do it myself as its well easy to apply.
patience is the key with this stuff, and as long as you heat it up (dont over heat it) its very easy to get it into the shape you want it to be.

Basically heat up the vinyl until it goes all floppy then bit by bit pull it over the edge/corner, holding it as it cools down, that way it sets to that shape. You may need to reheat to pull it a few times as ayou work your way along the part, but you'll get the idea as you go.
A tip I did was to use an off-cut piece of vinyl to cover the folds on the back of the wrapped piece, this helps it stay in place and also tidys it up, I know you can't see it once fitted back on, but it does help.
Tommytubby on here supplies it, it's the same stuff that Prodrive used to line the insides of their Snap-on toolboxes with back in the WRC days.
The stuff will mould itself around any contour, It even moulds itself around alloy wheels if you heat them up gently with a blow torch
