ok people, i have an 06 sti , and did have a "problem" fitting the drivers side. i did do a modification to make it fit with no compromise in the cars handling, in fact a noticeable improvement was obvious. as said, these alk (inc the standard part) can be a ba5t4rd to get in but will fit. but for any doubters out there, today i had my geometry set up done/checked, i was not charged as there was NO need to make ANY adjustments, everything was all within the tolerance measurements, in fact, close to what it was on their previous records from my car 5 months earlier. to be clear i did ask about the 0.5 degree change in positive camber, to which his reply was, "YES there has been a slight change in positive camber, just not that much" i then asked his opinion and he replied "if you feel that the car is handling better then i can confirm there has been no ill side effects geometry wise regarding fitting then it has done its job" i then asked again about the NEED for the positive camber to which he replied "you will only wear your tyres quicker! believe me its all good". now these people are very good at what they do and could easily of spun me a yarn and got me to cough up even more cash for a very minor adjustment that was not needed. this is a quality part and no diffrent from any other, i have that on good faith from a mate that rallies subarus regularly. i thought mentioning the fact that i found a WAY of making the part fit would help others in the long run but it seems that a lot of hysteria, panic and doubting has erupted as a result of this. my apologies chris. Lee.

I understand that if you are fitting the kit thats fair enough as its your time and you are not paying for someone elses.

In my case I have to get a garage to fit it therefore I don't want to pay extra for them to do modifications in order to fit.

Thats my issue.

filed approx. 1 - 1.5 mm on each opposite sides of holes to allow slight extra movement for a tight fit.(previous posts)

Chris do you want the kit back now or do I send back when the other kits are ready?

My courier charges about £8 to send items.

Let me know

I have a 03WRX and mine fitted perfectly.

Mine has been for a geometery set up at Zen, but I fitted new coil overs, ALK, STI lateral links and K Sport 330mm brakes, so my geometery was a long way out.

SCOOBYLOU:

If you can hold onto the kit for a bit that would be good, the newage alk and classic alk are the same..... its just no one has fitted a classic yet, I am just trying to find someone that has fitted to confirm yes or no

SPIKESTER : Cheers for letting us know

You don't need alot to fit the kit.

I did mine on my drive with just a trolly jack, axle stands and socket set.

Just make sure you get the alignment checked afterwards.

It's a shame you weren't closer, you could have had it fitted for free. I can't find anyone local who has a classic and the ALK.

I'd also add a crowbar or something like that to lever the suspension arm down with.

This is what worries me. I really don't want to pay extra to get it fitted.

Guys,

Sorry to say but if you are not happy, or think these are going to cost you too much to fit please send them back for a FULL refund, we can't warrant having to pay extra labour charges for the prices we sold them for

Thanks chris
