Just because they have huge engines doesn't mean they have bad emissions. In fact I know someone who recently imported a Dodge Durango 5.7-litre V8 and was tested by VOSA, the equipment could barely register pollutants from the engine. It's big diesel engined lorries and buses that are the worst polluters and cause all sorts of respiratory problems for people. Modern diesel cars seem to be better these days and I know Toyota make some of the cleanest diesels going so I would think Subaru will follow suit. Still see a lot of expensive BMWs and Audis chucking out loads of soot though. The powers that be in this country think that c02 is all we should worry about. C02 is a natural gas vital for life on this planet. As far as I know there isn't any other country in the world that taxes cars on c02 output.

I'm not going to let this stupid government force me into driving something I don't want.
