Hi,

since the introduction of the Billet range, part numbers have evolved, for example the SC 46 non Billet had a 46llb wheel in it, the Billet version has a slightly bigger wheel which is lighter and therefore will make more power.

It is always better to stay on the safe side to avoid dissapointment, if the SC36 Billet for example gives more than 360 bhp then everyone is happy.

So yes, the lb/min rating of the wheel does just happen to coincide with the ballpark bhp figure (1st two digits)!

Test drove this today, very impressive, spools like a ****!! 1 bar of boost just after 3k and full boost before 4k

 

Not really as a rule of thumb for every 10lb/min airflow = 100hp

So a 46lb comp has the ability to make 460hp IF everything else is upto the job

for those interested in the SC46 BILLET TWIN SCROLL we road tested it yesterday, as stated above, and data logged it.

The turbo makes 1 bar of boost at 3100 RPM, 1.5 bar at 3500 RPM. and 1.7 bar at 3700 RPM, gearbox is a 6 speeder tests in 4th gear, on a flat road.

What a stunning road / track car

Yeah, that's what I mean. The potential bhp (1st 2 digits) just happens to 'match' the lb/min rating of the comp wheel.

e.g. 46lb/min = 460bhp max. (potentially - given appropriate mods, etc.)

It's just one of those weird things...

 

That SC46 Billet sounds fab! I want one lol.

Appologies i have not read the post from the start but just picked up the bit that i am interested in.

SC360 for my blobeye wrx.

I have been buying and adding bits to the car and was following Andy Forests spec aiming at the 360bhp mark.

The turbo is my sticking part now. I love the car as it drives now with everything happening around the 3000rpm mark. So the big question for me is which ever turbo i go for will i still get what i have got now with the boost.

This has been/is one of the best threads.

Revealing new turbos and their objective RR results is like unravelling Christmas presents and experiencing the mystery prior to taking all the wrapping off. Probably.

Your STI, with the correct supporting mods, would be an ideal car for the SC40

I have a GT30 hybrid that made 440bhp, in the similar ballpark to the SC46. Car has a forged 2 litre and usual supporting mods.
