BMW X1
Well I didn't make up the figures - they are printed and easy to find. Although I doubt you have the brains to find them.
Nice move - look a complete **** in an argument so resort to the lamest of retorts - you must have a small ****.
Good job you aren't a lawyer seeing as you couldn't win a debate with a three year old.
You have a chavvy old WRX with the usual "baz" accessories. It's last decades news - hence tragic sales and a firm likelihood Subaru will actually go bust now. If anyone wants a proper rally rep, they go to Mitsubishi. It's like a failed rock star harping on about the good old times.
Utterly sad, utterly pointless but on reflection, actually quite funny.

Bruntingthorpe lap times:
BMW 335d - 1m 22.7
Subaru Impreza WRX - 1m 30.30 CONSIDERABLY slower than a mk5 Golf GTi with FWD and utterly slayed by a Renault Megane R26.R - so 4WD gets killed by less powerful FWD - did you mention something about a good chassis...?
Now run along Gallio, there's a good lad. There's a Nova 1.2 wanting a race.

Getting back on track. The X1 isnt a looker is it. A friend of mine is a detailer that works for BMW and he's prepared a few of these X1 now. He told me that paint is awful, very thin, and lots of cars are coming to them damaged and have rushed fixup jobs.
I do agree that the X3 is a bit pointless, but Im sure there's a market for it, although I wont be one of them. Looking at the prices of these X1's , when fully specc'ed up, well you really do need to sit down and ask yourself whether its worth it, or perhaps a a year old RRS / RR / etc etc.
Whatever the case, if you've ordered one then fair play, its a free world, and nothing beats that new car smell / purchase, so enjoy :-)

I do occasionally question lap times though - yes it was a wet time but the R500 Caterham gets beaten by the 335d and even a Mazda 3 MPS!!!
And my old R32 Golf beat (ahem) an SL55 AMG Merc on the Top Gear track...

They are 2 different car though. One being a small SUV that will be cheap to run/insure/maintain, while the RRS is 2.5 Tonnes of very big metal that'll cost a small fortune to run/insure/maintain.
Plus new, you get the 3 year warranty. Second hand you don't. Not a problem for some people, but I personally like having a warranty backed car.
Will seriously consider one of these next spring/summer. Just have to decide if I could justify the extra expense of the 23d over the 20d.
Stilover - drive both. The 20d unit is very accomplished, frugal and low on emissions. The 23d unit is simply bloody brilliant. Twin turbos really help the main issue with soot chuckers - that PITA lack of low rev oomph.
Guys,
As the op of this can you please argue elswhere, i was only asking opinion about a car on a car forum.
However actually saw one today at the BMW garage in Hamilton and i do not like it, there is something missing as it to small to be a off roader and to big to be a car, confused, lol
However they have a prestige car section and its full of RS4, Ferrari,Bentley, One GTR and loads of Overfinch RRS. i was there for ages drooling like a kid.
