Bob is a top bloke and you will be more than happy with the results and at a cracking price as well.

Just my two cents:

Mapping is one of those things you really shouldn't do to a price. Bob's rates are very reasonable, but the most important factor by far is that he is one of the most accomplished and respected (if not the most accomplished and respected) Subaru mappers out there who can be trusted to get the best out of your car safely.

Did anyone else have trouble getting hold of Bob, i sent an email on the 5th, a pm on the 6th (which say's it's been read) but still no reply, I'll try giving him a call tomorrow, but if that fails, i suppose i'll have to go elsewhere

I was hoping to get it done in next few weeks, in time for a RR day on the 30th.

You might if someone drops out as he tends to be booked up for a few months at a time ... he is good though & worth the wait

You may be lucky , I have mine booked in for the 20th feb , and emailed bob 4 weeks ago to see if I could have it mapped mid jan instead. Needles to say he will be mapping cars all Day on the 23 rd , so I am content to wait till feb.I am sure bob must be mega busy at the mo, but he should get back to you eventually .

I could not agree more NS04, Bob has mapped two Imprezas for me in the last 12 months and I would not take my cars anywhere else now.

I am just glad I negotiated a cracking price for myself and the others on this GB and might be going back to see him again in the summer - if I carry out further upgrades to the S202 or I might just go back to a Hawkeye and have the Ecutek Race Rom mapping carried out.

I agree he is a busy man and booked up well in advance, when he mapped my car back on the 6th of December in Swindon he was going up to Milton Keynes to map a track car on a Sunday afternoon. But he still took the time to sort out a boost issue and then take the car back out to carry on with the mapping session.

Have you had a rebuild/upgrade on your engine? At least in 3 weeks this bloody weather should have cleared (hopefully).

Bob is in Swindon, I personally would recommend going to him as he has some nice and emptyish roads to map on and he knows where the rozzers patrol.

He can travel to you but he might charge for travelling/fuel etc. unless he is in your area anyway, contact him to find out would be best.

Previous owner had a lot of work done on the car then a change of circumstances forced him to sell ... for him although for me! CDB, forged pistons, MD321 turbo etc. It's running on a safe map with effectively no boost & a 4.5k rpm limit.

You certainly had a bargain as the previous owner incurred all the expense, what kind of bhp/torque figures are you hoping for and is it a 2.0 litre engine?

Well ... 400-450bhp would be nice (depends on boost albeit spec is capable of 2 bar!); not sure on torque although I know that Bob likes to keep em both close Still 2 litre

You should get a healthy result out of the car

I would rather have torque than bhp (pub talk), I had a Hawkeye WRX mapped by Bob and it was on the standard TD04 but with a 'few' choice modifications.

It achieved 285bhp but around 380lbs/ft torque and it was a really nice car to drive as well, plenty of low and mid range power but with the TD04 is was a bit asmatic (ran out of puff) above 5500rpm.

While I remember good luck to Taylor with his mapping this Saturday - hope all goes well for you and fit an ejector seat for you know who (not Bob by the way).
