Any where between 200-240miles on a 50ltr tank, normal A to B driving (not round town).

When I was on track last week I averaged about 4mpg!

500+bhp with 1150cc "HosePipe" Injectors.

Had 320 from a full tank, probably 70% motorway. Driving like an old fart however... Off boost as much as poss and never went over 75mph.

Woo - made 300 on my last tank (from full to the light coming on) but had to drive like a grandad to do it - boo!!

Seem to be averaging about 260, that's with 75% motorway (at about 70) then a bit of fun in the twisties.

And keeping an eye on the boost gauge definitely helps when trying to be economical.......

I'm getting about 270 with normal driving....bit of flooring it and a bit of grandad style and thought that was bad , but after reading this I reckon my scoob is running normal !
Would the 02 sensor make the biggest difference to the petrol consumption if that was a bit dodgy ?

I get around 300 miles to a full tank of V Power. However, I have started doing more motorway driving. Previous to this I got 250 when doing short runs. Got a dump valve, exhaust and induction kit. I have a mixed drive of hard acceleration and normal driving. As a rule now I tend not to watch the fuel guage, just drive drive drive, then fill when the light comes on. I also drive a BMW 520d, i can drive this hard all day and get a return of 47 MPG!!!! Not as fun tho!! 26 MPG scoob but worth every penny!!

the new hatch STIs are really thrifty on the motorways. 30 mpg is easily achievable at 70MPH. 35mpg if you stick behind a coach and if you drop the speed to just below 60 and stick behind a lorry you can get over 40mpg.
My last 700 miles (mostly on the motorway) average 36.4mpg. The first 100 miles averaged 41.7. Its become an obsession with me. Watching that damn fuel gauge all the time. But its good fun. The pull from these coaches is amazing. I was behind a car behind a coach on sunday for about 80 miles doing about 75MPH and averaging 45MPG.
The gauge is accurate too. Got to London and back on a tank full with a gallon to spare. thats 390miles return trip

I think Optimax isn't as good for the economy.

Optimax 300 to a tank

Tesco 99 320+ until the red light comes on.

03 WRX de-cat, filter, map to 275 bhp

5t.
