Hi all, im very interested in doing the ring!! i was going to go 2 yrs ago but had other things pop up!! wondered if you can give me a quick run down on what will happen, prices, and facilities for having work done to cars(i.e. anywhere to change tyers!!).
Have done a few track days already this year so am wanting more!!
also weather wise? what would it be like for that time of year!? if its raining then will take the STI Type-R, if its not then will take my little HSV GST-R(410bhp at the mo.)!!
anyway hope you can let me know soo so can sort out extra pads, disks, etc!!(only one HSV dealer in uk so they might run out of parts and it takes2weeks for them to get them from down under!!)

Is that the ugly Civic Type R ?

Only jokin, should be good for a bit of comparison between 1.6 old and 2.0 new.

Im really lookin forward to it now

Chu i would get your car sorted before you go to the Ring, its not exactly easy to buy tyres etc out there. A few of the guys who go are a bit of a wiz at fixing stuff (Owain - Welsh blue haired hero), so don't worry too much, very reasonable rates i hear

the Ring is a public road mate...insurance covers it

Most of us are staying at the ZurBurg 85-95 euros/night for a twin room

weather update - this weekend just gone we had snow for both sat and sun. At the mo, it is around 1 deg C. There is no snow left though, but still quite cold. Overnight temps below zero. This is in Munich however, so the ring may be a little warmer.

Any queries, just email me

GOT the STi

This is seriously good fun. Only 650 miles to go and then I can unleash the 2nd half of the revs!!

I have had to sign a disclaimer saying I will not go above 4000rpm, unless in an emergency. I pointed out I want to be a doctor but they were having none of it

Harj mate, did you get mail re rooms? Cheers

Stevie

Matt,

I was tempted by an R34 but cheesy grins in a certain magazine put me off There is still a Skyline in me at some point though, I dont know what it is but they do flick my switch.

3 days and 450 miles done. I can hear those extra 4000 revs calling me!!

Might be biased a little, but blue/black, anthracite wheels, blacked out lights and de-badged does look rather good. Why Subaru insist in using inch high British Leyland-esque badges on the boot is beyond me. Also, Direct Line reckon removing the WRX Impreza badge makes my car less of a target to thieves!! Fantastic

Stevie you said “Also, Direct Line reckon removing the WRX Impreza badge makes my car less of a target to thieves!! Fantastic”

So the huge wheels, mahusive spoiler, brightly coloured and logoed brake calipers, Sti stickers down the side, prodrive on the front, don’t give it away then??

Looking forward to a lap in the 'stealth' mobile, LOL
