Excellent ...

I believe that at the moment the rev limiter is still on as it has only just completed having the strengthening inserts put into the 2.8 block, so it needs running in, however I hope that it is off by next weekend !

None the less, it is still very pretty to look at with a complete sparco interior and huge ( read truck T78 ) turbo plus all colour co - ordinated engine bay ..

A genuine 200mph car !

Is anyone coming up from London / M1 or M40 way ???

Paul

John,

Bring the Westie!!!!!! I want to see this famous beast

I'm still interested in getting a caterham/westie type vehicle sometime in the future, so I want to see how easy they are to get in and out of and what you get for your money.

OK, I know yours is on the ludicrous scale of power, but it might give me some ideas

Not that I'm trying to sway you of course....and the weather may have something to do with your choice of vehicles

Mikey.

I too have concerns abou the event as a whole, not only with the amount of cars/spaces.

Give me a ring (0115) 970 8555, or pop in if you are passing?

Mike.

*******WARNING********

Hiya Dudes,

Just had a call from the Inspector Copper guy, thankfully he is "one of the old school"

He has "let it slip" that due to committee and local resident spokesperson pressure and the need to be "seen" to be in control, he has aggreed to post two temporary speed traps along our in route Thing is, he has accidentally suggested where they may be

Basically there will be one set up at each end of the A6097. This road is a long wide quick road with fast roundabouts at each end. In a scoob and an evo (as we all know) you will be easily able to exit the roundabouts onto the A6097 already doing 60mph. TAKE CARE.

Coming from the A46 end onto the A6097, there is a huge layby 2-300 meters up the incline on your right. By the time you see it and if you have kept your foot planted, you WILL be exceeding 100mph as you come into camera sight Please take it steady. At this point you will be 2 minutes from the final RV don't ruin ya day.

Coming from the A612 end onto the A6097, there is a wicked little roundabout with a camber and surface change at the exit all good fun in the wet when no one else is around. This turns into a small dual carriage way, leading over a bridge. Once over the bridge, the road rapidly becomes single carriageway again. The temptation is to boot it along the Dual carriageway up the hill, which is fine except as you come over the brow of the bridge, you will see a long, wide straight A6097 which seduces you to keep it planted. Again, you WILL be doing in excess of 100mph at this point if you are not careful
The camera will be on the right hand side of the road up a driveway which is shielded from view TAKE CARE

On a plus note, the inspector did say he would try and get one of the police scoobs down, however he was not on duty that day so couldn't be certain.

Mikey & Ame YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Just to add to Mikey's comments above, the speed limit has just changed between Lowdham and Gunthorpe to 40mph I think; from the opposite direction (Bingham) it is 60mph; take it easy guys.

Just so you don't have to go to the beginning to see where the A6097 is. It's the RED one going past west of Gunthorpe running SE/NW ish.

Use the direction buttons on the left of the Multi map site to move the map along and zoom out etc.

Time: 12:30 onwards

EVENT: A rather large gathering of Scoobs and EVO's

Thanks for the Info Mikey

Anyone coming from the South up the A46, please note that this is the East Midland accident blackspot, especially form the end of the Dual carriageway to Bingham!! Despite having long straights it also has some blind junctions so just be careful out there.

I suggest people should be 'winding down' on the way to Gunthorpe so please stick to ALL the speed limits in the vicinity so that the police have nothing to complain about.

Let's make this a safe, fun and happy event and hopefully it can become an annual thing (if Mikey can take the pressure!)

We are at 213 vehicles at the moment, 30% drop out rate would equate to a reduced list of about 149 add 10% for people who have not posted, recieved fliers, have not got a computer etc means that we can expect around 165 cars in all

Seeya there peeps

Mikey,
Not sure on your calculations there......

We had a list of about 200 cars for the meet at Bolney last month and ended up with 522

Therefore be prepared for an invasion. Hope the pub can handle it

EvoRSX: 522 cars!? Mikey perhaps you should call it the 'not quite so BIG one'

i saw this "field" yesterday and

1 no its not hard to find it is between the two car parks

2 they were towing caravans off it with vauxhaul cavaliers so i imagine a 4 wheel drive impreza towing nowt shouldnt have to much trouble.

3 if you come in an Elise avoid the field
