This is great!!. Well done Mikey.

Just to remind everyone that this is a great oppurtunity to forward the scooby community in public eyes, a chance to show them we are not part of the Maxpower Nova crowd. Lets have a great day out and make it a proud day for scoobynet. :)

117 people (there being a 2a near the top :)) !?

Has anyone thought about telling Subaru about this? Maybe they'd fancy bringing down an STi demonstrator?

Northampton meet-up point - details here

Cheers :D

As far as getting dealers involved, i'm a little dubious! Do they REALLY look after us? I've never recieved anything from one to make me go outta my way to support them! The dealership network is big enough to sort these sort of things out but never do so why should OUR meet be a sales platform for them?

Besides, i wouldn't want to be at the meet avoiding the sales patter all afternoon.

I think that there will be enough STi Vii's there belonging to members and I for one will be more comfortable speaking to the owners :D

Also an STi blatting to and from Gunthorpe with a salesman at the helm all afternoon isn't what i wanna see. I wanna see Scoobynetters having a laff and entertaining our EVO guests :D:D:D

Anyway, have you seen the size of OUR list :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Mikey

Still looking for a photographer ;)

Edited to reduce thread length. Attendees list at the end :D

:)

Mikey, I've no intention of letting the dealers make it a sales event  :) I actually meant to let Scooby drivers have a go in the new STi. Lister's (Worcester) are often at track days and stuff and are pretty free with letting people try out their cars - perhaps they'd come along? Just a thought :) No-one wants a sales pitch all afternoon!! :D

I just tried organising a STI7 at a Cov area meet. Carstins were well interested until a few days before where they for some reason didnt have a driver available. We were communicating for over 2 weeks to finalise the details. They then requested that we had the next meet at their Gaff. Still thinking about it! but on hearing stories of their servicing and cusomer services from the Cov area guys I am not so sure now.

Role on the 7th April

Cheers

Neal

This sounds as if it is getting ENOURMOUS:eek:

Are you sure they can fit us all in Mikey? ;)

Any routes run from Gunthorpe will NOT be 'blasts' but simply local tours for sensible drivers. Numbers will be strictly limited and in small groups with a breifing beforehand. Anyone who wants to come and show they can drive like a lunatic should stop at home!

Gridlock Mikey 14 March 2002 08:32 PM

By my reckoning, there is space for about 200 vehicles across all the car parks :D sand that's parked liberally. I don't think we are gonna run outta room ;) . If we do, there is always the road, let's face it, it's not on a busy high street is it :D

I second the comment about daft drivers staying at home ;)

Updated list to follow scroties :D:D

Are we still donating the money collected to the RSPCA??
(cos I like likkle animals:D:D)
seriously though....would be good to give them a cheque from us all if we can do the collection
I don't mind wandering around the cars if we can sort out some kind of collecting bucket so those who want to donate can:)

Richard Askew 15 March 2002 12:27 PM

RSPCA?? nah its gotta be Cancer or Air Ambulance...

NM 15 March 2002 01:45 PM

Teds just trying to make ammends on all the slow animals he and his Scoob have run over ;)

Cancer Research is the way to go !

Cheers

Neal

mattstant 15 March 2002 04:40 PM

we could do with a quick straw poll on where the money goes i would prefer it to go to a more "worthy" cause than the R.P.C.nothing wrong wirth the rspca its just that i think "people" come first so any more suggestions ????

seejay555 15 March 2002 04:46 PM

Cancer Research gets my vote

Ted Ed 15 March 2002 05:15 PM

I think if you want to get the most favourable publicity and admiration the charity to go for is a Childrens Cancer charity. There must be a nearby childrens hospice and believe it or not these charities need all the money they can get.

How about every driver having to bring a tenner and a childs toy? It wont matter if it is a £1.99 book or a £50 teddy bear whatever you can afford would be ace. The money can go to medical equipment?

Of course daft driving could ruin it all but how about this to show the world what a bloody nice bunch of people Impreza fans are?

What d'ya think?

PKB 15 March 2002 07:06 PM
