Are these legal to have on your car?

Also can you get removable ones as my splitter on my 1997 classic has covered my towing eye

Chris at CDF might be able to knock these up, look fairly straightforward

Something like these...

IMPREZA WRX STI LEGACY EJ25 EJ20 Front + Rear Tow Hook : eBay Motors (item 350302043709 end time Feb-05-10 18:16:51 PST)

I'd be up for a rear one at least, the front would depend on how it fits around the FMIC

This thread always pops it's head up and nothing comes of it.
eBay UK have tow hooks but they are replica's It's the US for the real thing.

As for the legality side of things IMO my tow hook sticking out the rear is a lot less obtrusive than a Tow bar.

Those bull bars Mitsi L200's have would do more damage than a took hook.

If it's for track purposes why not just run the OEM one?

I don't know if there is any legislation or even guidelines around protruding objects and the rear bumper...the front bumper is different; I know two people who have been warned about canards use on the road. Agree re bullbars, sadly common sense is not something that our governing bodies seem to have an abundance of.

Less d!cking around when you use one of these on track; easy to locate and use, far better than laying\ kneeling down looking for the towing eye

I Assume you won't mind me asking but why go for the GB?

Don't you like the fact that they are not mass produced? Not doubting CDF at all they will do a great job but i don't get why people don't go off and source the part themselves.

There's a ton of Aero parts i want but i'm not going to approach a bodyshop to knock me one up when i can source the original part. It may cost slightly more and it will be imported but there's a bespoke factor

simple - because i want a pair of tow hooks.

even though iv got bespoke parts on my car, im not going for a bespoke car, more of a 'no bull****' approach and i see it practical to have a decent pair of tow hooks that are easy accessable

you say you dont see why people dont go off and find them? why not make life easy and pay someone from the UK to do a job then someone in usa or elsewhere overseas

are you annoyed more people over here will be running them on their cars or something ?

well said Jon

Bockett, there are sooooooooo many impreza's in the Uk that it's nigh on impossible to do something unique and if you do pull it off then it's only a matter of time before someone copies it...check out my black roof that I've been running since 2005, there's bloomin' loads now

Your look is hardly unique, it's just a NASOIC car

Not at all. With recent conditions i'd encourage anyone to fit one

Yeah right. Believe me it's nothing to do with NASIOC. (A) It's become to common with UK guys, i seek something a little different (B) It's as bitchy on there as it is here

Perhaps I've misrepresented you, if so apologies but I do remember lots of Americanisms in the aggressive offset thread

Reckon I'll just make my own, its not hard and I have the material kicking about.

8mm Dural aluminium should do it I reckon.

bitchyness on here? where? bockett fair play wanting unique stuff for your motor mate im sure lots of people are the same, like i say iv got a few bits that are hard to come by/bespoke and your motor certainly stands out but with the tow hooks, this time. i just cannot be arsed so GB for me is it.
