Talking Fed up of being picked on :-)

Ok, after being picked on so much about these rear lights, I decided to look into getting a set of these. So when Ryan ( Mr D ) had a tinted set for sale, I emailed him and to ask how hard the tint was to take off and he offered to do it for me . We arranged to meet on sunday but on thursday , I asked if I could meet him to pick them up and he said they weren't ready but I thought to myself "how hard can it be to just buff them up"

How wrong was I

Ryan fair play to him hard worked really hard to get the tint off but they just needed a good buffing to bring the shine back. After 2 days of sanding and buffing, my arms are killing me! (wish I'd left them with him until they were finshed now )

Well anyway, I've given up and if anyone saying anything bad about them, I'll be really upset because I couldn't have worked any harder on them.

This evening I fitted them, Hope you all like them!

As you know, if you have been following this thread, I am in the middle of changing my timing belt. So I decided while most of these parts are off, I would freshen them up and give them a lick of paint as I can't afford to buy the light weight ones quite yet.

So here are them before:-

Steering Pulley

Middle Pulley (not sure of correct name, maybe crank)

Alternator Cover

Strut-Bar

Base Coat

Final Colour

This is just a quick picture just after lacquer sprayed on, so still wet. I'll be taking more photo's once everything is dry.

Nice work Claire - the STi rear lights are a lot better.

Couple of questions:

What make are your headlights? they look like a projector unit and built in sidelight - very neat

How hard was it get the screen out? Noticed that I have rust creeping into the roof from my screen surround so need to get that sorted.

Cheers,
Steve

I dont know what make the headlights are to be honest just bought them on ebay!

The trim is the pain around the windscreen as you end up breaking most of the clips which are about £1.50 each and need around 15 for just the front screen. Thats without the ones that go over the roof! You can do the rust without taking the whole screen out but if the clips break you'll have to take the screen out because the clips go under the screen, then the glue to hold the screen goes on and straight after the trim must go on.

I wanted a new windscreen anyway because it had all little chips on it that in the sun looked like glitter. Nightmare! So had a company fit the new screen after she was painted!
