Hey guys sorry for lack of updates had a lot on, i got the shell up on its side today and got cracking on the welding and proceeded to run out of gas after a while so i am getting there slowly
couple of pics for you
And STi wanna Subaru yes would be great if you could come up with a design for a complete spaceframe to incorporate all the mounts and engine mounts to take a fibreglass shell cheers
also because i have moved the top of the rear suspension turrets the top bolt hole of the struts needs tweaking just wondering what would be the best way around this see below
Cheers all

Here's a quick example of the kind of thing I can do. Just knocked this up in 20 min to show how it can be build up in 3D. Can then get a parts list for the steel sections and produce drawings. Obviously what you need a more complicated and we'd need to get some dimensions and a *** packet sketch of the basic design.

I think alot of lessons can be learned from these guys. ie how to do it correctly.
TBH I hope it never sees the road, it looks a death trap....................
Harsh maybe, but projects like this give the whole scene a bad name.
Endless cutting and shutting is never a good way, bite the bullet build a spaceframe chassis and chuck the rest away.

you must remeber scoobyd00999 this is scoobynet and if anything involves a bit of hard work and a change from the norm and isn't completed by the list of top end people its always going to be knocked down by some. as you mention a hot rod is totally cut to pieces and re welded but thats a different car so doesn't matter.

FYI I've been around Hot rods since i was born.
Poor standards are poor standards regardless of car choice.
If he didnt want comments good/bad it wouldnt have been posted on here.

Hey Guys
yes with regards to comments i freely welcome comments i am a thick skinned sole who has had a lot of flack in the past for being differant and, i am fully aware that at the moment the car is not gunna end up on the road consider this a prototype for my personal track use, at the end of the day it might not handle well could inbalenced who knows, thats the whole point of trying things,
And with the new iva they would look at it and probably say no way but you have got to start somewhere hence why the designs for the spaceframe which i have been working on another design that will create a full spaceframe, which will take time.
Unfortunatly i do not have a bottomless money pit !! as much as i would love to. It is all about learning and correcting untill you get it right, at the end of the day i am only 25 and have never done anything of this scale before yes i have restored classic cars from bareshell 1 of which is a current multiple show winner and onto its 2nd Magazine feature, all of which i did the work myself including the spray work
As i say everyone is intitled to an opinion, but to go as far as to say what i am doing gives the scene a bad name is a bit below the belt and how many people on here are doing anything similar to me, as far as i know 1 which is looking to be an amazing and quaility build which in my opinion when it comes to IVA time yes they will be strict but take this in to mind a standard mini be it from 1959 to 2001 will not in standard form pass the IVA on multiple points and yet how many 1000,s of mini's are driving on todays roads,
if you would like to go further if you take a 4x4 with a built chassis and throw the boudy away make your own it only needs a MOT so take all this into note when you start trying to dig at someone for trying something never done,
Thanks for all your comments guys hope to have some more updates for you soon,
If this thread has caused any offence to anyone then feel free to pm me your expressed views so we can talk it through,
Thanks

Hey STi wanna Subaru
you got the idea i will come up with a few designs will work on a 2 shaped main chassis rails from front to back to take front suspension, engine, geabox and all rear suspension
then build from that could then bring the engine back a little more drive shaft angle permitting and maybe redesign the rear suspension a little i will do some drawings in my lunch breaks this week and scan them in see what we get, cheers for your CAD wizardery lol
cheers
