I do apologise for posting this elsewhere on your forum..and well opened my eyes..Is there no getting away from this?? Kent Essex??

Yeah they got some naff cars but in all honesty these guys spend evry penny they have on their pride and joy...just as we do our Scoobs...come on guys dont get like my lot here lol(ks)...WE ARE ALL LIKE MINDED PEOPLE WITH ONE THING IN COMMON...A LOVE FOR CARS ..BE IT SUPERIOR LIKE THE SCOOB OR JUST A TATTY OLD PUG

I believe the car park here was not intended to step on anyones toes merely just somewhere easy for them to meet..being its Uk modified so some come from afar!!

I will pass on your concerns obviously..but please dont be so quick to condem...we got to look after each other...I think we have enough outside influences to compete against... sorry rant over...

Well i love coming to Essex...the tunnel the sound...and look at the weather...could it get much better

I think the original problem was the quote about doing silly things in the car park, and us lot being tarred with the same brush

Nothing bad really said about their motors

And if you look a bit deeper into the cars we also actually own, they are not exclusively Subaru's , There are Fords, Mazdas, Mitsubishis, Jeeps, Peugeots, VW's ........... And that is off the top of my head

It's not a case of stepping on "our" toes. Tesco's Mayflower is our traditional meeting place for our flagship cruise and we treat the car park with respect. Doughnutting, flaming, sound off's and revving engines to see how nice the exhausts sound are not tolerated at the meet, and people who breaks these rules are asked to stop. We don't want to lose the use of Tescos Mayflower for the same reason you want to use it - it's a great meeting stop - Hence the apprehension shown.
I'm sure no one on here wants to stop your meet and you're right - it's great meeting up with like minded petrol heads, all we're asking is to treat the place with respect so future meets, be it the Scooby Cruise, or your meets will not be banned in the future.

Hope this clears things up

Thanks and as I said I will defo pass on the info...
and of course I do not know what many of you drive as dont post on here for fear of being shot down..I dont know why lol

I really dont think any ill intention was intended and Im guess the words spoke by Cornelius here are alot more likely top achieve the result you want..I dont think they have a 2meeting place2 as such as its very new off the ground, and I have called ahead to give the concerns raised to the organiser who is obviously some what gutted as didnt wanna upset anyone and has been looking forward to this evening for ages...

any suggestions then..I suggested straight to southend maybe??

Shiralee, it wasn't the fact of the meet taking place there,I think it's great, but, it was the line

...PLEASE NOTE ANY ACTIVITIES YOU PARTICIPATE IN ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND UK-MODIFIED CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU GET CAUGHT...
Which you must admit, although not condoning bad behaviour, it hints that it will happen and is a disclaimer for the organisers, rather than asking for people to behave themselves.

And saw more of essex than I ever have last night...was this county built for driving Scoobies or what???

Not a girl in sight.

Glad all went well on the meet.

Please tell me all these guys have blue badges or it was after they had closed for the night.
