We do have some Apex Coilovers incoming, however they wont be here before September, and there are no 4/3 spring rates on the shipment.

We can order you in the BC 4/3 by air, if you order before Tuesday mid afternoon they will go on Tuesday Nights order and likely to be with us the following Tuesday.

3rd kit down in this link if you want to buy online

Hi,

Yes if you need them quick we can sort that, just call 01274 683633. £679

If you want to wait around 10 weeks for the next group buy that will also be no problem, assuming its a UK wagon with 5x100 PCD wheels.

What were the problems as I have a set of Apex Gen2/BC coilovers on my car that a previous owner fitted and both front struts are badly leaking fluid from the top.

I am interested as if this is an inherent fault then I am reluctant to replace them with more BC's and will junk the coilovers and change them for another setup.

Any solid type mount transmits noises through to the cabin. The less solid the mount the less noise is transmitted. The rose joints are the noisest, the aluminium top mount with rubber centre is better.

However we have developed and introduced OEM style rear top mounts as the default set up which eliminate noise from the rear completely.

To my knwoledge the whole noise thing has been covered comprehensively, a 100% quiet solution developed and introduced.

If any individual customers have a continued issue then we are available at the end of the phone line 9-6pm Monday to Friday to discuss technical issues and resolution, 01274 683633.

The main stay of our business is trade sales. As such we cannot do a GB on here with the BC products.

We can offer a discount on the Apex branded units though and have multiple kits on their way to us for stock

Some customers wanted a perfectly quiet ride with their coilovers. As explained above. You wont necessarly get this with a rose joint or performance design rubber centreed top mount so all kits now come by default with a very complient and ultra quiet OEM style rear top mount.

The rose jointed camber adjustable units are available upon request.

Actual damper failures are very rare. To have both fronts failures would raise the question about how the coilovers have been set up. If the car been lowered ont he spring platform rather than the bototm mount then the damper travel will have been greatly reduced leading to repeat and frequent bottoming out which will increase the chance of seal failure.

New damper units are £84.50 a piece. Give us a ring on 01274 683633 if you need to discuss further.

Bren, the suspension and geometry have been setup by Powerstation who have a good reputation for suspension setup and geometry, the car is not riding any lower than a similarly car equipped with factory struts and Prodrive lowering springs.

I cannot personally verify that Powerstation have set the coilovers up correctly but I would imagine that they have given that they specialise in this kind of modification.

The point/question that I am trying to make is - what is the expected service life of these coilovers? Given that my car has to my knowledge covered less than 15,000 miles.

I would be suprised if Powerstation didnt set the car up properly.

We have a staff can that ran in excess of 40k very hard road and track miles without issue on the Apex coilovers. We sell many thousands of kits a year and have sold tens of thousands to date. We supply very few replacement damper units.

To have both front units fail at the same time is highly unusual and is not typical of the product.

I cannot give you a specific expected milage but I can say that I would expect the dampers to easily exceed 15k miles before needing replacing.

Whats the difference between Apex and BC, is it just a sticker and a change of colour (APex Gen2 being red/black) but the same spec?

Will a new thread be started for the next GB soon?

Cheers,

Tony.

Yep - same question here too Bren - are your units rebranded BC's or are they different? And if so, the next obvious question is how!

If they were just rebranded then contractural agreements would mean I wouldnt be able to state as much. The spec reads exactly the same as the spec for the BCs.

We have the following arriving here mid next week:

5x 5/4kg.mm GC8
5x 6/5kg.mm GDB

All with camber adjustable pillowball front top mounts and OEM spec rubber rear top mount.

As above, the spec is exactly the same as the BC units but if there were the same thing in a different colour then I wouldnt be able to say so.

I'll be up for a set of these Apex (cough)bc coilover kits if you do a set for mine.

UK model 2001 bugeye wrx wagon

The rear o/s has started to creak and a set of kyb oe dampers with sport springs works out the same cost. So might as well go for something more focussed for the type of car it is.

You need the GDB kit. For a road car that does some track days then Id not go over the top with spring rates and stick with the default 6/5kg.mm Any stiffer and you just start to ruin the cars performance on the road.

Im hardly like to say theyre junk now am I However, yes, theyre an absolute steal at that price. Theyre a very good quality unit and Ive been over generous witht he discount, I wont run them at 25% again because the kits command a much higher value than that, even when on special offer.

So to confirm the £509.25 is for the red/black Apex Gen2 branded units?

For the 2008+ STi the BC Racing website says pillowball front and rubber rear mounts, i thought the hatch didn't suffer from noise in the rear? Is the rubber mount on these kits just to cut out any possibility of increased NVH in the rear? Personally for a road car that is what i'd prefer so its a bonus for me.

Lastly spring rates for the hatch, as previous conversations for a road car with the possibility of the odd track day what would be the recommended spring rates.

And lastly would you still do the hatch kit at this price if i were to place a deposit now and then you put a kit on the next shipment (no rush on delivery)??

Cheers,

Tony.

Yes, £509.25 for the Apex red and black units.

Im double checking rear mount options for the 08+ models. Im also asking the factory for kit recommendations, they have more experience of the 08+ vehicle than I do so I want their input.

Deposit now and kit ordered on next shipment is no problem.

Sort of, Im saying that the price will go up for future deals but that Im sticking to the original special price for the moment.

I dont have pics of the Impreza kits but this is an Evo kit:
