John

Let me tell you .The guy is well aware of the situation . You are right Things like this should not get out of control. And I urge others to be "cool" with their replies!!

But Lets not be like the British legal system....... He owes the money and despite many promises has not paid and is thinking about NOT paying

Get real...... This is a problem that could affect anyone on the net. Small claims courts are an option. But that would mean "Moving the situation" into a whole new ball game.

If some one had bought a set of wheels of a member and found out that they where stolen and the seller new... Any post mentioning this and the seller would be an important issue. ONLY if the facts are true.

If SDB wants to close the topic ,Fine. But watch others posting to complain...

Unhappy

Not a good situation Luke, sorry mate - I talk to Jamie a lot, he hasnt mentioned anything to me .......... but you both offer me support - so I hereby offer mine.

Not sure of all the details so will not comment further, just to say that I hope it gets sorted. Its fair enough to give him a warning shot on here first before involving the courts and such like.

Luke, I'm really sorry for you. This must leave a very bad taste, especially after all the work you put in in the first place. I hope this experience, from what we've heard from your side, doesn't put others off group buys. But maybe a little more prudence in securing up-front monies to avoid this sort of situation. Luckily there's not a lot of cash involved here, but that's not the point. It's a question of trust. If what you say is true, then we've all been let down and nobody can be happy about that. Scoobynet deserves better.

As an observation, there have been loads of group buys on here and lots of poeple saying yes please. Then when it comes to the crunch, suddenly quite a few people drop out leaving the deal floundering. I don't have an asnwer for that.

But after all is said and done, I agree with John F. This thread is not the way to sort things out. Quite probably, it is antagonistic and actually counter-productive, but either way this is not the place.

Sorry, mate. Hope you get things straightened out

Best regards,

Richard.

I have now requested that this thread be locked. You have had your say and people have offered you advice on what your options are.

You cant just keep bringing threads to the top because you are not getting the results you want from it.

If you buy something from someone it's your responsibility to check it's legitimate, scoobynet cannot do that for you.

Likewise, if you sell something and dont get payment, it's your responsibility to ensure the legitimacy of the person you are selling to, scoobynet cant do that for you either.

Like i have said to you, it's regretable that you have been taken advantage of but that doesnt mean you should keep this thread at the top and if it is locked, complain about that.

We live in a world full of people who are not what they seem, scoobynet cannot protect you from that, it's up to you to show caution. I think this thread being left open so long is very generous. It's now time for it to be left and for you to either seek the money or count it as a total loss. Scoobynet cant help you there i am afraid.
