Well carry it on else where. Or with the person you have a problem with..
I don't take my car to any east/west/noth or south yorkshire subaru garages.. don't trust any of them they all think they know everything. unless its a subaru dealer. so you are obviously wrong about me knowing pennine!!! I think my car goes very well. but if it broke down i would not come on here ranting on about it.... i'd go get it fixed!! after all they are just souped up road cars..... unless you are top of your game and compete in some sort of event... I've been to blyton today and had lots of fun out on track with some great pals... and come back to this ****e on the WYIOC forum again

Don't call me a ***,,,,, you don't know me that well..
And may get somthing you don't like... !!!!
I don't give a stuff if your car works or not..... its not mine.. lol
All i'm saying is it don't look right on here so why don't you put it in general..
where a lot more people can see how big your problems are. You have hijacked this post and thread.
And i don't grow tomatoes..... But would strongly suggest you go buy a greenhouse and start growing your own. lets face it it would work out a lot cheaper than "planting" anymore money in your car...
And to the other keyboard warrior I'm not middle aged and there is no crises in my life and never has been and never will be for that matter.
Take all your complaints and put them in general where it would get more enthusiasm from people like yourselves who just like to complain about how much money they have spent, how much they can't afford it and what a crap job the mechanic they have employed to do the job has made of their car engine or whatever else they have done wrong. It's good that you let people know about your unhappiness and experiences that you have all had with your engine rebuilds and things but really, I illiterate "put it in General" where it will get more feedback. So please don't call me anymore names as you really really don't know me and I have not got a very good temper and it does not go down very well, If you have anything to say to me pick up your phone and dial my number 07749144816 and I will gladly tell you what I think. Or will see you at the next scooby sprint at the Pod
ps. Dunx I don't like things I have discussed about my car put on open forum I keep my things private as not to create sh.te for anyone. What I told you or anyone about my car I tell face to face and do not expect it to be put on open forum my car unlike everyone else is private and personal to me and what happens to my car and where it goes for servicing is my business. My car has done 2 Cadwells a Donnington 3 Blytons and 2 Scooby Sprints and has not let me down. If it did it would be my fault for trying to get two much brakehorse out of it. I sympathise with the people that have got major issues with engine builders but you can only get so much out of an engine. No nastiness meant Dunx you know how my car goes, you have been in it at Cadwell. The only thing I do to mine is eat a lot of tyres change the oil and hope for the best.

Yes that's right I did put it on twice, just like you how many times have you put something in all your posts regarding your car and whoever your engine builder is, and I don't need to shake, like you have already said it will be 2010 before you get your car back on the road or running in standard mod. None of you actually come on the WYIOC formum to talk about what fun they have had in their car or what runs they have been out on or shows for that matter all you have done is come on here and every single post has slagged off a garage that you have had dealings with. Yes I sympathise with you that your car is not running great but do you really think after wasting all your money time and effort slagging the guy off is going to get you anywhere ?? In my opinion, just chalk it up as a mistake and go elsewhere. And once again I would suggest a reputable company such as Power Station. I read everything clearly and people say all sorts of things about all sorts of garages at the end of the day its pot luck if he does a good job or a bad job. I suppose with some of these engine builders, they are limited to what they can do with an individuals engine. i.e. wear and tear and whether it has been interferred with in its past. And I also understand that people have budgets to run by. And this is where it gets a bit messy by people pouring lots and lots of money into their cars that are probably second hand and have no history being a jap inport. I am lucky I bought my car brand new so I know everything that has been done to it, and it's still an ongoing project for me, but I would not come on here and slag off a gargage I have spent and put ££££££ at, I would try and negotiate a deal as not to lose all my hard earnt money I had put into the car in the first place. I wish you all the best with your car but to be honest, after reading all your posts what garage do you think will accomodate you and your car now ? no slur intended.
ps Arf if you take your car to R.E. = Richard Everington he will do a top job he is a very diligent mechanic with very high standards of workmanship, and I don't think you will go wrong but be warned your engine has been played with by someone else and if I were a mechanic I would want to start from scratch and not try and rectify someone elses alleged mistakes.
I sincerely wish you all the best with it.
DUNX = Thanks for the PM
I wish to fetch this to a close because I am a grown man and can't be bothered discussing how I feel about your posts and your outbursts, regarding mechanics and their garages. At the end of the day you pay your money you take your chances.

firstly i want to appologise to the wyioc for all that has gone on in this thread.i never meant for all the name calling and everything that has been said between people,if i had known how it was going to go i would have posted in the general section, but i only wanted to let the people i know that i was off the road again and obviously wont be at any meets or sprints untill it is up and running again.i hope it will all stop now as i feel responsable for it all happening in the first place.i went down to see rick first as he is the nearest garage to me anyway,he had a look at the car but told me he wouldnt be able to fit me in until mid aug.now if this was the first time i was having my engine sorted i could probably have waited, but with all i went through last year i dont want the car to be off the road a day longer than it should be.i have taken the car to area 52 and thats were it is going to stay now untill the work is done,i trust that they will do a good job of things and if they do then no doubt there will be more work for them in the future,if they dont then i will have to cross that bridge if and when i come to it.they gave me a ring last week saying that hopefully they would have the engine out early this week so i should atleast no were i stand damage wise.will post up progress as it happens. arf.

Arf in no way are you to blame, for any of it you are a WYIOC member and one of the lads and you should be able to share the problems with your car with the club that you are in without people jumping in with both feet putting their two penies worth in about their cars and their problems with their engines and the garages involved and like I have said in previous posts, its up to the individual where he/she takes their car. Me and you have had a lot of fun at the sprint and a good laugh winding each other up about our times to be honest its a shame your car has let go like it has and its also a shame that Pennine?/Chy can't do anything for you to get it sorted sooner but I understand that you have taken it elsewhere now. I hope it all works out and would just like to say if you still fancy doing the sprint you are more than welcome to share my car with me and we can both see who the best driver is then with our times Its all in good fun you know and my offer is a genuine one. Good luck all the best

I'm glad we have chats about problems people have with there cars, and that people share there thoughts.
I think we must remember to try and enjoy our cars,
when we start to put more power through the engine we will start having problems with the cars, Subaru spend millions on development.
we, us, you and myself try to make these cars Better faster stronger, Than Subaru them selves, with the money that we have to spend on them, which is to us a lot of money.
but to subaru they would of spent that £10,000.00 or so what you would of spent on your engine, Subaru would of spent that on a suspension arm or brake line, (development) and if the 1st company they used for these components could not get it right they would ether work with that company in a professional way, or move on to another company.
I think If we can help each other in finding these companies / Garages, whether it be on this forum or the general forum, that is good for all Subaru owners,
With these cars
The more money we spend on them to get more power out of them.
The more stress they are under, and the more they will brake.
lets face it we don't do all this to try and return 44.3 mpg
Do we
So lets try and do this with out insults to each other, but come on, lets do this. it is one of the reasons its here for.
Love peace and happiness

Bigarf.....
the question has to be asked (Ive whisked thru this thread so not sure if it has already)....why o' why let someone have 3rd attempt at re-building your engine?
I had two forged bottom ends go on my Evo earlier this year, both times I had mapper pointing finger at engine builder and back and forth...solution....after it went the 2nd time I decided that id use the same people next time to build and then map the car....
Id have taken the car away after it failed the 2nd time and wanted money back.....
Is it a case of a more deep seated problem though? I mean, who mapped it, was it run in correctly etc etc.....
Engines failing are the worst kick in the knackers you can get IMO......

paul, again sorry for how some of this has gone.
jimmy, the reason why i took it back to chy again was because i am too soft for my own good.when i laid out all the cash for the first build i never thought i was going to have problem after problem with it.yes i should have demanded money back and gone somewere else but its not that simple is it as that could have taken years going through court and my car would have still been off the road until it got sorted.so i trusted him again to do a good job but as a result of that i am having to pay someone else to rectify his work.i realy thought that after 3 attempts things would be spot on but i knew as soon as it was using so much oil again that it wasnt.but i have learnt my lesson now and hopefully i will be able to just enjoy the car once its done this time and not worry about when its going to go bang.

I understand bud, we all say to ourselves "he'll do it right this time etc"
I made same mistake, after mine failed 1st time I should have had it stripped and examined by a third party...we live and learn, pity its an expensive hobby.
When my bottom end went I felt like id been squarely kicked in the nads, felt down for days, 2nd time, I decided there and then on motorway hard shoulder it was getting sold......just fell out of love with the car after all effrt id put in.
We must be all mad mate to do what we do! lol

He might of put the lightweight 14mm bolts in, Think they mesure about 11mm.
only joking Arf.
I think when you have had the engine all mesured and checked you might find that there could be a few other things that are not as you asked for.
I'm sure if it had been built as you asked and as he said it was going to be built it would of been a fantastic motor,
When you have it all rebuilt again will you be getting rid of the loos nut at the back of the steering wheel or os that part staying?
with a bit of look it should be ready for the last round of the scooby sprint

I don't know if you made later arrangements with Chy, but you bought, and were invoiced by me for the ARP head stud kit. This is, and always has been standard fit 11mm kit.

as i remember back when the engine was being built he told me that he used a larger head stud than standered and that the heads and block needed machining to make these fit,so going by that i thought i would be getting 14mm.looking at the invoice that you emailed me it says ARP(big nut)head stud kit.if big nut just means a larger nut and not larger studs then why would the block need any work as they should fit staight in.not wanting to start another war again as its all happened now and i want to put chy as far to the back of my mind as i can but to stop things like this happening again i think he should start to wright down on paper exactly what you are and arn't getting.

Arthur,
The ARP kit was described as "big nut", because ARP up dated the spec' to use a larger flange nut, and it was the later kit I supplied.
No machining of the block is required for this kit, but perhaps you had a discussion with Chy regarding what work would be needed "if" you did go for 14mm studs ?

+1 for Howard at Hdc fantastic bloke and fantastic service he built my engine and has been spot on not a single issue, no oil usage or water usage whatsoever!
My car doesn't go anywhere else engine build wise. I own a garage myself doing mods etc to Subarus and the amount of customers I have that complain about chy and his customer service is ridiculous.
