I wear 1 of 2 necklaces. 1 is a laser etched dragon on a stainless steel billet on a japanese braid. The other is a bit unique. Its mammoth ivory (technically stone now) again on a japanese braid.

as to necklaces, i've got friends who do and they're definatly not gay, i don't, each to his own really.

Do wish hammond would stop styling himself though, he looks more and more like something out of zoolander each episode

Men who spend far too much time and effort over their appearance ( a la Hammond ) are either gay, or desperately single and trying to pull.

All us proper men know that once we get hitched, thats job done and we dont need to bother anymore - their tough luck if we get fat and scruffy as its too late by then.

Mike, normally it is the ugly ******* that say this though and no amount of time spent will improve matters.

Aplologies if you feel the need to conform to labels and society.
Are you confident enough in your manliness to wear a Vivienne Westwood dress though, or would that be conforming to labels and society ?

Its not about conforming, I've worn some weird stuff in my youth and it was great fun.

But some things just mark you out as a 'wrong un'. Its especially those crappy surfer dude bits of leather and matching crappy beady type braclets that make me think wtf??

Its almost as bad as those nancy boys who have just a tiny wisp of manicured hair on their chin. Wtf is that about??

Nat21, stop mincing around in girl's clothes shops and get down the gymn!!

Then in all likelihood you will come across, not always, but in a lot of cases a similar ilk of humanity desperate to be seen above their dire personalities.

I can't see a problem with a man wearing a necklace. It depends on what it is though.
Too big and he is trying to be a geeza and too little and its like as if he has been and bought a crappy bit of gol from Argos..
It has to have some sort of sentimental value for it to be acceptable.

We moved to an area more heavily populated by the kind of people who wear those "crappy surfer dudebits of leather and matching crappy beady type bracelets" (mostly mountain bikers/snowboarders/climbers) and I can pretty much guarantee that none of them care what you, or others, think.

They are, as a bunch, extremely likeable, easy going, and happy people. Above all, they are not judgemental and not the kind of people to see you in your M5 and think either "stolen" or "****", irrespective of what you were wearing at the time

Fair play to Nat for doing it his way

FTR, I've had a small silver symbol on a black cord round my neck for a few years now. A present from Mrs DD, and worn because I like it.

Yes, but I have car because I need a car, it just happens to be a certain make. Why do you need to hang crappy bits of leather and beads around your body? Is it to say look at me, I'm really chilled out man?

I think Mrs Devil dog is a very smart lady. She knows that now that she's got you wearing a woman's necklace, no other woman will come near you. LOL

Personally I would never wear jewellery - earrings, necklace etc.

Think it looks naff on most people, though some can get away with it and each to their own. Though never with diamond ear-studs

Why should it be such an issue for you? You don't need an M5, a 520i would get you to work and back just the same. Try just accepting, rather than needing to understand.

LOL. Perhaps.

Mrs DD is most certainly very smart. Whether that was her game plan or not only she will know!
