Allot of new pcs are ex army Forces trying to get back into work?
maybe theres history there?
PCSO take alot of grief all day, abuse from kids and alike, many choose to do the role as they not so tiied up with paperwork...
However crime has reduced dramatically since they have been introduced.
Yes there are jobsworthds, as in all walks of life.
When does someone ever post up a good thing regarding the police service?
Normally the positivness is towards the officer and not the Police service as a whole.
When a bad occurance with one officer the response is BAD POLICE force as a whole.

I'm ex forces (Royal Marines) I still treat people with courtesy politeness and respect.

Being ex forces has sweet FA to do with the attitude of the majority of today's coppers.

What also holds no weight with me is whether I was doing wrong or not. Fair enough I've been on the wrong end of a few police bollockings and some have been rightly deserved. However even in that situation there's a right way and a wrong way. I got stopped for speeding once, no bones about it I was in the wrong. I didn't give him any lip and admitted straight away I was going a tad too quickly. This tool however thought it appropiate to call me every name under the sun and swear at me calling me a f*cking C*nt. Had this fool not had a uniform on and have kicked his **** proper. I had a good look at his collar number and made sure he's seen it. His attitude then changed immediately.

My point here is that this was completely unecassary and again just made me think that the officer was a complete and utter w4nker. He didnt nick me just gave me a warning. If he had of nicked me but been polite i'd of still had better feelings towards him.

I've also been on the flip side where I've needed the police when my parents were burgled. Again dreadful attitude as though they couldnt be arsed and we were inconveniencing them. I ended up pointing it out to them in no uncertain terms that their attitudes were disgraceful.

I dont hate the police, far from it, I just wish they'd get there act together as far as how to treat people goes.

I think the point you are trying to make is that people generalise & because of one bad experience (or several in our case) immediately taint the whole police force the same?

Similarly, you have pointed out that most new police are ex forces and that may be the problem - is this too not generalising?

I am all for giving praise where praise is due - and have done before on here about a member of the police force, and a compliment for a traffic warden!

As with everything in this country, only bad news is newsworthy, so 9/10 times you will only see complaints. However, I for one will seek out a store manager if I have received a good service & compliment the staff member (although I am normally met with 'whats the problem'.....before I have spoken!)

I remember a Posers cruise in the summer months a few years back and a whole load of us parked along the pavement just passed the Casino. we all got moved on as well, in fact a couple of cars who's owners had walked off even got tickets.

What really annoyed me was that a week later I happened to drive along there and a load of "normal" cars, i.e. not "cruisers" had parked along the pavement in exactly the same manner as we had the week previous and not a ticket in site, and to top it off, about the 5th car along, also parked on the pavement amongst all the others was...........a police car!

One rule for us, one rule for everyone else!

i AGREE WITH YOU DAZ, i was RG10s for few years before i came firearms officer back in the 90s with the Met, The point i was putting across is that some ppl feel intimidated by the way some officers, some of the guys i work with who are mostly co19 are ex services 6ft 6 and well you know what i mean, Most ppl go on the defensive.
Im not defending any officers back actions, and officers shoild treat everyone with respect and courtesy at all times,

IM not comenting on this subject anymore..

Going back to the OP I don't think he was either intimadated or on the defensive, just totally pi$$ed of being spoken to the way he was.

Perhaps it just comes down to breeding & the type of upbringing a person has................

After all manners & treating people as you would like to be treated yourself were something my parents taught me!

police man = bullied victims at school

i used to help my mate at his workshop at night and it got turned over one night they stole about 4-5k worth of bits from mine, jon's and customers cars, the police turned up nxt day could'nt be bothered and said "oh i'll come back another day to get statement and list of bits missing", 2 weeks later he comes back and then never heard from them again, then got turned over again this year with about 10ks worth of pistons and rods stolen, turned for about 10mins then sodded off and phoned up 2 weeks later again to ask "HOW ARE YOU GETTING ON WITH YOUR INVESTIGATION"???? i'm sorry i thought WE pay your wages to do that???

last month i was out with my mate in his m5 (v10 with tubie style exhaust) sounds very ferrari/lambo escq, any way driving threw town with cruise control set at 30 mph when all of a sudden a pc jumps in the middle off the road making him stop, then proceded to tear strips off him on how he was driving to fast and how he would get traffic down to pull his car apart and tell him his car was not road worthy????? all he wanted to do was belittle him

what i'm trying to say is when they see someone with nice things or having fun they just want to embarres them in front of people so they can make themselfs feel better???

We go to southend a lot and have seen other car clubs park in the same place up to about 20 at a time all the way along, so as it was busy we thought why not, well yes they were very rude even though i kept saying sorry, we did park right on the kerb so we wasnt to far over, soz about that Arkwrite never again

We`ve only been 4 times on the cruise now. And by the time we normally leave cars are parked all the way along there so I thought the same as you. I don`t mind being told when I`m in the wrong but it was the sarcasm and it was so easy for them to do it in a civil way. Never mind the police shoot themselves in the foot again.
Might meet you another time

Isn't it illegal to impersonate a police officer?

I know i'm getting old, as half the police don't look much older than Samuel to me!

Fancy parking on the pavement and expecting everything to be OK
You're a very naughty boy
As for the Police, they are a wonderful bunch of individuals who occasionally are just misunderstood

Is`nt that meant to be misunderstand. As in who`s driving which car.
