We should be OK for the next 20-odd minutes though.

You know you're in trouble when Bell is your 3rd highest scorer, and he only has 8.

At the end of the day we all know this is Bell's fault don't we

They're going to have to promote Extras above Bell for the final Test.

The first part of my prophecy was spot on. I think we'll do well to even stretch the game to Sunday evening!

Darren Lehman said before the game he'd bat and expect 400 + from the wicket, and he played there for many years, just a shocking batting performance.

Can someone call Sky and tell Atherton that Anderson took a ball on the toe (the first he faced I think), they still haven't sussed it....

Well, we've established it's not the weather that affected our batting. The Aussies are managing quite well.

Can someone answer a question for me regarding the first test draw.

I only saw the last moments of it when we were playing catch up, we then went on to get 14 more runs than the aussies and still had a few overs left, Ricky Ponting didn't look happy as we chalked up a few more runs than the Aussies. so bearing in mind we had more runs and overs left how come the test was a draw???

2 Innings each over 5 days
Aussies only had one innings and were trying to bowl England out and then if time allowed take their 2nd innings and knock over the paltry amount required, they didn't manage it and ran out of time.

Will someone post up the final score today, or how to find it on the net. Here in France, it's not easy. SKY?

You're better off not knowing.

England all out for 102 after 33 overs. Extras was the 3rd highest scoring player.

Australia finished day one on 194-4.

Good grief! Has to be one of the worst performances with the bat, ever.

WHAT made that idiot Strauss decide to bat? Come back Vaughan, all is forgiven. Strauss will lose this series for us, against the weakest Aussie team to visit these shores in decades

Just Googles that series, our worst performance with the bat was 172 or so all out, but it WAS against bowlers of the calibre of McGrath, Kasprowicz, Gillespie and, of course, Shane Warne.

You're all forgetting the 51 in the W.I.

As I mentioned earlier it was the right decision to bat, that pitch is worth 400+ we were just crap, donated the Ashes imo with that innings, bowling wasn't much better, no line or length, you'd have thought they'd never played at Headingly before, idiots.

Dont know if I can be bothered to stay up until 03:30 tonight, I may grace Mrs Funkii with my presence tonight

Funnily enough the Cricket made the back page of the papers today, first time in 4 tests, funny that fickle f*ckers they are here.

That said they were still being slaughtered on the inside pages. An interesting piece, seems Ponting and M Clarke dont speak anymore, ate at the same restaurant the other night at seperate tables, didn't utter a hello or goodbye or even converse the entire evening, which I find really strange, Pup used to have his head so far up Punters **** you could just about see his shoes, i reckon he wants him to step down, touch of the Browns and Blair going on there. Piece also mentioned that S Clark doesn't get picked because he's not on the same social level (too bright) as Ponting and the selectors, so they may have spanked us but all is not well in the Aussie camp.

I think our worst Ashes performance was all out for 45 in Sydney in 1887, still beats the lowest ever score, 36 by the aussies in 1902

We need some headingly magic from 1981, right now I reckon we should get Botham, Atherton and Hussain down on the pitch and get Bumble back as coach!!

I see they haven't learnt from yesterday, still bowling short.

These are not the same players we saw at Lords and Edgbaston.

Whoever writes the bbc page cracks me up, always something witty on there...

"England need a miracle. And we're only four sessions in. Unfortunately, traipsing from the pitch, their shoulders slouched, the England players don't look much like miracle workers, they look like survivors being herded from a plane crash"

it's Ben Dirs today, he's brilliant. Hardly ever talks about the cricket

Do you think we'll get to 11.15 tomorrow.

Bell has really proved his worth today don't you think? NOT.
